The 8th Congress of the Trade Union of Hyundai Shipbuilding Company - Vietnam, term 2025

Mr. Tran Ba Thanh - Chairman of the Trade Union of Shipbuilding Industry Corporation; Mr. Kim Song Hag - General Director of HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and 90 delegates representing more than 3,100 union members of the company attended the congress.

In the 2023 - 2025 term, the Trade Union of Hyundai Shipbuilding Company - Vietnam has well performed the tasks and plans set out. The Trade Union has closely coordinated with the company's leaders to ensure jobs, income and welfare for workers; signed collective labor agreements with many provisions beneficial to union members. At the same time, many practical care activities have been implemented, such as: supporting more than 1,500 cases of illness and difficulty with a total amount of over 800 million VND; giving gifts, supporting Tet, Union meals, cultural and sports activities, women's workers... with a total cost of over 8.4 billion VND. The Trade Union coordinated with the company to organize training to improve skills and expertise for workers; organized competitions for skilled workers, English competitions and sent them to study abroad with an amount of over 1.6 billion VND. The union admitted 670 new members, bringing the total number of members to 3,129, accounting for 99.8% of the total number of workers; introduced 12 outstanding members to the Party for consideration of training and admission. In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Trade Union of Hyundai Shipbuilding Company - Vietnam focuses on innovating the organization and operations towards streamlining and efficiency, promoting the application of digital technology; enhancing care and protecting the rights of workers; building a team of workers with courage, qualifications, and industrial style; building harmonious and progressive labor relations; actively participating in Party building, building a clean and strong political system. Strive for 100% of newly recruited workers to be admitted to the union; negotiate and sign collective labor agreements with 1 to 2 conditions higher than those prescribed by law; introduce at least 30 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of training and admission...

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Kim Song Hag - General Director of HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. thanked the Executive Board of the Trade Union and all union members for always accompanying and sharing with the company during the past time. He hoped that the trade union and employees would always accompany the company, build solidarity, cooperate to develop the business; affirmed that the Board of Directors will always strive to make the company "a workplace where all employees feel proud".
