Amad Diallo recovers. |
According to The Athletic , Amad will return and train with the MU first team next week. This is considered an important step in the Ivorian player's recovery process after a serious ankle injury that has kept him out of action since mid-February.
The former Atalanta man's recovery has been described as "miraculous". He is likely to feature in the final games of the season, including the second leg of the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao.
The 22-year-old will miss the Premier League clash with Bournemouth this weekend, but could be on the bench for the clash with Brentford on May 4, and could be available for the return leg against Bilbao at Old Trafford on May 8.
Before his injury, Diallo was a key player in Ruben Amorim's attack, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in 36 appearances. His return is timely as Manchester United still have a chance to win the Europa League and qualify for the 2025/26 Champions League.
On the other hand, the injury situation at Old Trafford remains quite complicated. Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee have both officially ended their seasons due to serious injuries, while Matthijs de Ligt, Toby Collyer and Ayden Heaven are still in the process of recovering and could return in May.
Manchester United are at risk of dropping to 17th place if they continue to receive unfavorable results. However, many former players still express their faith in Amorim and affirm that they should be patient with the Portuguese strategist's long-term reconstruction strategy.
