In Vinh Thanh commune, water flooded the Ga market and residential areas. People were busy moving their belongings and property to higher ground.
Mr. Ky Quang, who lives in Vinh Thanh, said he predicted the flood would come but did not expect it to rise so quickly. According to him, near evening, the water in his house in Phu Trung 2 village was only ankle-high, but by 7 p.m. the same day, his house was flooded nearly 1 meter deep.
Water flooded into people's homes, disrupting their lives. Many people had to wade through flooded areas to return home when 23-10 Street was submerged. People had to wade through knee-deep water to buy food and candles in case of power outages.
Not far away, Mr. Xuan Le in Vinh Thanh commune, unable to hide his anxiety, and his wife moved their belongings to higher ground. “We are keeping an eye on the flood, just hoping the water recedes so we can stabilize our lives,” Mr. Xuan said.

Fearing that the water would continue to rise tonight, Ms. Huyen had to mobilize many people to move their belongings up high and then run away from the flood.
Today, Khanh Hoa Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited issued a notice on releasing flood water to maintain the elevation of Suoi Dau reservoir (Dien Khanh district).
Accordingly, Suoi Dau Lake regulates water from 3:00 p.m. on December 15 to 5:00 p.m. on December 19. The maximum regulated flow is 90 m3/s. Two other lakes in Dien Khanh district are Am Chua Lake, which regulates from 11:00 a.m. on December 15 to 5:00 p.m. on December 19 with a level of 40 m3/s; Dac Loc Lake, which regulates from 3:00 p.m. on December 12 to 3:00 p.m. on December 17 with a level of 25 m3/s.
