My Linh and the Youth Symphony Orchestra bring famous film soundtracks

On May 6 and 7, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Vietnam National Academy of Music returned to the audience with a "Film Music Night" taking place at the Academy's Grand Concert Hall.

The program introduces classic works written for symphony orchestra with musical themes from famous films, familiar and associated with many generations of Vietnamese people such as "The Chairman Waltz" - the music from the film "Memoirs of a Geisha" with the sweet and soulful solo sounds of Violin & cello. The film music "Three Comrades" by author Artiemev with the vast, endless space, the rich melody, and the lyrical sound of the trumpet.

There is also "A Whole New World" in the movie Aladdin with its emotional and pure melodies, "I don't want to miss a thing" in the famous movie "Armageddon" with its intense melodies that seem to explode, the immortal and passionate Tango in "Scent of a Woman" with the shrill sounds of the violin...

This program will be led by two young and talented conductors, Dong Quang Vinh and Tran Nhat Minh, who will tell interesting stories about the films and connect the young generations of artists of the VNAMYO Youth Symphony Orchestra so that they can confidently show their talents.

The special program with the participation of diva My Linh, international violin soloist Chuong Vu, singer Dao Mac, cellist Bui Ha Mien, singer Do Hoang Hiep (Ngu Cung band) and young solo trumpet artist Dang Van Chinh is one of the bright spots and pride in the field of practical performance training of the Percussion Department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

Meritorious Artist Bui Cong Duy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, said that building the future and developing the VNAMYO Youth Symphony Orchestra in recent years has been one of the main focuses in the practical training field of the Academy to prepare the next generation of the country's symphony industry in the next 20-30 years.

"The concerts are not only an opportunity for students to show their talents when collaborating with famous artists, but also to spread positive energy to the capital's audience," Meritorious Artist Bui Cong Duy shared.

The concert "Film Music Night" after ending in Hanoi will be brought to Ho Chi Minh Square to perform at the 2023 Youth Music Festival taking place on the evening of May 14 in Nghe An City.
