At least 45 people died and one person was seriously injured when a bus carrying Easter holiday goers fell off a cliff in Limpopo province, South Africa on March 28 (local time).
The only survivor, an 8-year-old girl, was taken to hospital, the South African Transport Department said, according to CNN. The passengers were pilgrims traveling from Gaborone, the capital of neighboring Botswana, and the bus was on its way to a church for Easter services.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. The Limpopo provincial transport department said the driver lost control of the bus, which plunged about 50 metres down a cliff and burst into flames. Rescue teams are currently searching for the bodies of the passengers who died.
Immediately after the tragic accident, South African Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga arrived at the scene to direct the rescue work and send condolences to the families and relatives of the unfortunate victims. Mr. Sindisiwe Chikunga said that the government will repatriate the bodies to Botswana.
Some bodies were burned beyond recognition, while others were trapped in the rubble and scattered at the scene, according to local police.
