On the afternoon of October 10, speaking with VietNamNet reporters , the leader of Vinh University said that the Ministry of Education and Training had just agreed to admit Lang Duc Bang, a former student of Nghe An Ethnic Minority High School No. 2, to the History Pedagogy major. The male student had scored 29 points in block C00 in the 2025 high school graduation exam, with a bonus score of 29.37, passing his first choice to enter the Border Guard Academy but was not allowed to attend due to health reasons.

“Fortunately, student Bang was admitted to the History Education major, as there is still a shortage of students. The school will guide Bang through the admission procedures,” said a leader of Vinh University.

Previously, the school also sent a document to the Ministry of Education and Training reporting on Lang Duc Bang's case.

According to the leaders of Vinh University, after not being accepted into the Border Guard Academy, Bang submitted an application expressing his wish to study History Pedagogy at Vinh University. However, because the additional admission round has ended, the school must report and ask for the opinion of the Ministry of Education and Training.

“Regarding Bang’s case, Nghe An province’s leaders are very concerned and have asked the school to consider and create favorable conditions. However, Bang has not yet been admitted and must wait for the Ministry of Education and Training’s opinion,” a representative of Vinh University informed.

As VietNamNet reported, in the 2025 high school graduation exam, candidate Lang Duc Bang scored 29 points in block C00 with 9.25 in Literature, 9.75 in History and 10 in Geography. Thanks to the priority points, his total score was 29.37, passing his first choice to the Border Guard Academy.

However, a few days after enrolling, the results of the health check at the school showed that Bang had hepatitis B. The school created conditions for him to be treated at the hospital for 11 days, but the test results were still positive. On September 27, according to the regulations of the Ministry of National Defense , Bang was forced to return to his hometown.

With the second registration wish to enter the History Pedagogy major of Vinh University. However, this school has ended the second round of additional admissions at 23:59 on September 16.

Afterwards, the male student wrote a letter to the Minister of Education and Training asking for consideration of the opportunity to continue studying. The Border Guard Academy also sent a document requesting Vinh University to consider accepting Bang's case to avoid disadvantages for the candidate.
