The Flower Festival is held every two years and attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. |
• CURRENT SITUATION AND CHALLENGES
In 2024, according to statistics from the authorities, Lam Dong welcomed more than 8 million visitors, including 1.2 million international visitors - an impressive number that demonstrates the attractiveness of this land. However, behind those numbers, there is still much room for further development. To achieve the goal of doubling tourism revenue by 2025, the province needs to clearly recognize the remaining limitations.
In particular, the service staff still has many shortcomings such as: low service skills, limited foreign language ability, not really professional enough to meet the expectations of increasingly demanding and sophisticated tourists.
As for tourism infrastructure, from hotels to restaurants, it is still not competitive enough due to lack of investment and modern equipment. Current tourism products in many places are still monotonous, lacking creativity, and have not fully exploited the unique cultural and natural potential of the Southern Central Highlands.
State management is sometimes still inflexible and not strong enough to create a competitive and healthy tourism environment.
• DETERMINATION AND UNIFORM SOLUTIONS REQUIRE
To make a breakthrough, Lam Dong needs a long-term and comprehensive strategy. First of all, it is necessary to identify the improvement of human resources as a prerequisite. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly organize training courses on service skills, communication skills and knowledge of local culture and history for staff, combining training from businesses andeducational institutions. At the same time, promote the application of new technology in the management and operation of tourism activities to improve efficiency and customer experience.
In addition, investing in upgrading tourism infrastructure to international standards is essential. Encourage businesses to develop diverse tourism products such as: eco-tourism, cultural experiences, community tourism, suitable for the tastes of each customer group. Cooperation links between businesses are also the key to creating attractive, comprehensive products, keeping tourists longer.
In addition, it is necessary to review and amend relevant legal regulations to create a transparent business environment and healthy competition. Inspection and examination activities also need to be enhanced to strictly handle violations. At the same time, build the image of Lam Dong tourism brand, associate with typical local products, and promote promotion on domestic and foreign media channels.
People need to be educated and raised awareness to understand the role of tourism in socio-economic development, and at the same time actively participate in preserving and promoting local cultural values, becoming hospitable tourism ambassadors.
With the concerted efforts of the government, businesses and the community, Lam Dong tourism will certainly reach new heights and make breakthroughs. The province will not only maintain its central position in the Central Highlands, but also promise to become a leading destination in Vietnam and the region, opening a new and promising door for sustainable development.
