As a foreign-invested enterprise (FDI), AIDI Vietnam Artistic Candle Company Limited (Cai Lan Industrial Park, Ha Long City) has 1,850 employees specializing in producing candle products for export to European and American markets.
Vice President of the Company's Trade Union, Nguyen Thi Hanh, said: Along with taking care of, increasing income, improving the working environment, we always implement well the social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance policies for employees in accordance with regulations. The Company regularly coordinates with the Ha Long City Labor Federation and the provincial Social Insurance to organize conferences to disseminate and discuss policies and laws on social insurance for union officials, employees in charge of social insurance and employees. This helps participants fully grasp the newly issued regulations; at the same time, understand more deeply about the social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance policies for themselves and comply with the regulations.
Ms. Tran Thi Hue (48 years old), a worker at the Packaging Workshop, AIDI Vietnam Artistic Candle Company Limited, said: The company organizes many conferences to promote dialogues related to social insurance and unemployment insurance so that we, the workers, can attend and grasp the information. At the conference, there were contents that we did not understand clearly about maternity, sick leave, and unemployment benefits. We directly discussed and received full and satisfactory answers from social insurance and trade union officials.
Over the years, the trade union has always maintained a communication channel with relevant units when conflicts arise in the implementation of labor law policies, especially social insurance and unemployment insurance regimes at enterprises. From there, conflicts that arise are promptly resolved, ensuring the harmony of interests between relevant parties.
Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor Dang Thi Kim Chung said: Every year, we coordinate with the Provincial Social Insurance to organize dozens of conferences to disseminate and provide legal advice on social insurance for union members, employees and employers. In particular, we focus on providing legal advice and answering questions from union members, employees as well as businesses related to the implementation of social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance policies. In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinates to organize inspections, checks and supervision of the implementation of labor laws related to social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance in businesses; especially businesses with outstanding social insurance debts, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees.
Every year, the provincial Social Insurance prints thousands of leaflets for the subjects with the latest updated content, vivid and intuitive images; detailed instructions for each item; helping businesses, employees and people easily understand and fully grasp policy information, facilitating participation.
According to the provincial Social Insurance, in the first quarter of 2025, the provincial Social Insurance coordinated to organize 26 communication conferences on social insurance and health insurance policies for over 1,500 people; posted hundreds of articles on social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance policies on central and provincial mass media; websites, social networks, and fanpages of the industry; through loudspeaker systems in communes and wards in the province.
By the end of the first quarter of 2025, the total number of social insurance participants in the province is 304,041, an increase of 16,000 people compared to the same period in 2024, accounting for 47.58% of the working-age labor force; of which compulsory social insurance is 266,434 people; unemployment insurance is 254,588 people; voluntary social insurance is 37,600 people. The total number of health insurance participants is over 1.3 million people; an increase of 28,000 people compared to the same period in 2024; the health insurance coverage rate is 95.75% of the province's population.
Along with that, the provincial Social Insurance has promoted digital transformation, effectively applied information technology to simplify the industry's business processes, shorten the time to handle administrative procedures, and create maximum convenience for people and businesses to access and participate in social insurance, health insurance, and voluntary social insurance.
In addition, the provincial Social Insurance has effectively applied VssID - Digital Social Insurance on a smart device platform to fully convey policies and regulations of the newly issued Social Insurance Law; make procedures transparent, register and monitor contributions and payments, and ensure benefits for participants.
The dissemination of policies and laws on social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance is being carried out by the entire political system in diverse and rich forms, actively contributing to changing the awareness of cadres, party members and all classes of people. That will contribute to spreading social insurance, health insurance, and voluntary social insurance policies more and more in life with expanded coverage; creating better motivation in taking care of people's social security, effectively contributing to the province's sustainable growth goals.
