Russia warns of placing long-range weapons on allied territory, strongly responding to the West

Russia is trying to discuss with foreign partners the possibility of deploying long-range weapons on their territory, as a response to a series of military activities conducted by the West recently.
Long-range weapons deployed on the territory of allied countries would be Moscow's strongest response to the North Atlantic military alliance.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov in an interview with TASS news agency emphasized the importance of strengthening security, including through military measures.
Such a move has become part of a broader strategy put forward by Moscow to adapt to new challenges and threats posed by NATO and other international actors.
Based on the modern geopolitical situation, Russia is facing increasingly frequent NATO activities right near its borders, a fact that makes Moscow feel its national security is threatened.
Mr. Ryabkov made it clear: "NATO only understands the language of force, so Russia is forced to take tough steps to protect its interests. Strengthening military capabilities, including leaving open the possibility of deploying long-range weapons, is one of the priorities of foreign policy."
Russia is looking for allies not only in Europe but also in many other regions of the world (such as in Africa or South America) to deploy long-range weapons.
The above-mentioned areas are of strategic concern to Russia, the location of long-range weapons, if deployed, can put direct pressure on opponents, thereby creating a balance of power and strengthening the position that Moscow has in the international arena.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov noted: "Discussions on the deployment of Russian long-range weapons are now taking place not only at the level of exchanges or assessments, but also include specific measures aimed at ensuring security."
Russia asserts that it only deploys long-range weapons on the territory of an allied country based on respect for sovereignty and international obligations, which is of particular importance in order to maintain a relationship of trust and avoid potential risks of conflict.
Moscow does not currently supply long-range weapons to other countries, but it has said it reserves the right to do so in the future. President Vladimir Putin has said Russia is ready to sell advanced military equipment to countries under pressure, including foreign military pressure.
This move can be seen as a response to the West sending increasingly sophisticated long-range strike weapons to Ukraine and causing serious losses to the Russian Armed Forces.
Faced with the new situation, it is clear that Russia is seeking to tighten military cooperation with many old allies, aiming to consolidate its position and expand Moscow's sphere of influence, while also putting pressure on its opponents.
It should be noted that just before Russia warned that it would take the above step, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the Alliance was discussing the possibility of putting nuclear missiles on alert after removing them from storage.
The move is part of a deterrence strategy as NATO feels the growing power of Russia and China, despite the fact that the move is sure to cause tension and increase confrontation between East and West.
The Kremlin said that when faced with the above situation, they were forced to make a defensive response, and accused NATO of having to bear responsibility for escalating tensions.
