At a press conference on September 28, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Sever Forces Group had inflicted losses on the 21st, 22nd, 115th Mechanized Brigades; 17th Tank Brigade; 82nd, 95th Air Assault Brigades; 1st National Guard Brigade; 36th Marine Brigade and 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade of Ukraine near the settlements of Lyubimovka, Daryino, Novy Put, Nikolayevo-Daryino and Plekhovo.
The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that four Ukrainian attacks were repelled near the settlement of Lyubimovka and several counterattacks were thwarted near the settlements of Kremyanoye, Kamyshevka and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, other attempts by Kiev forces to break through the Russian border near the settlements of Novy Put and Medvezhye were also prevented.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost two armored fighting vehicles, two vehicles and more than 60 soldiers were killed or wounded," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Furthermore, the ministry also reported that Russian air and artillery strikes targeted the 21st, 22nd, 41st, 61st, 115th Mechanized Brigades; the 17th Tank Brigade; the 80th, 95th Air Assault Brigades; the 1st, 17th National Guard Brigades; the 36th Marine Brigade and the 103rd, 129th Territorial Defense Forces near the settlements of Bogdanovka, Guyevo, Daryino, Kubatkin, Kruglenkoye, Knyazhy Pervy, Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Makhovka, Medvezhye, Melovoy, Novy Put, Orlovka, Plekhovo, Pravda, Russkoye Porechnoye, Tolsty Lug and Cherkasskoye Porechnoye.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, other airstrikes also targeted reservists of the 21st, 41st, 115th Mechanized Brigades; 82nd, 95th Air Assault Brigades; 1st National Guard Brigade and the 101st, 103rd, 107th Territorial Defense Brigades of the Kiev forces near the settlements of Belovody, Bruski, Bunyakino, Glukhov, Zhuravka, Kucherovka, Kondratovka, Kruzhok, Malushino, Mogritsa, Mirlogi, Pavlovka, Revyakino, Rovnoye, Rechki, Ulanovo and Shalygino in Ukraine's Sumy region, bordering Russia's Kursk.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost more than 370 servicemen, one tank, two US-made M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, five armored fighting vehicles, two artillery pieces and eight vehicles," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The ministry also released videos showing Russian fighter jets, attack helicopters and suicide drones attacking Kiev forces in the direction of Kursk.
In August, Kiev forces launched a surprise attack from Sumy into Russia's Kursk. Soon after, the Russian army launched attacks to stop the Kiev forces' advance.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the start of the battle for Kursk, Kiev forces have lost 18,130 troops, 132 tanks, 64 infantry fighting vehicles, 97 armored personnel carriers, 842 armored fighting vehicles, 541 motor vehicles, 145 artillery pieces, 31 launchers, eight air defense systems, five transport-loading vehicles, 37 electronic warfare stations, nine counter-battery radars, two airborne radars, 18 engineering vehicles and one armored recovery vehicle.
