In his opening speech, Mr. Le Tri Thanh said that the two sides have effectively coordinated to implement the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the 2022-2027 period with many practical activities such as: supporting the improvement of human resource quality, improving livelihoods, building a peaceful and friendly border area...
According to Mr. Le Tri Thanh, in the coming time, implementing the policy of administrative unit arrangement, Quang Nam province will merge with Da Nang city to form a new administrative unit - the new Da Nang city. From there, it aims to become an important growth pole of the Central region. In the spirit of inheritance, Quang Nam province commits to continue to build a new cooperation agreement with Sekong, focusing on practical, effective and sustainable contents, in order to expand economic, cultural, social connections and people-to-people exchanges between the two localities.
At the meeting, Ms. Vi Lay Van - Da La Sin, Chairwoman of the Lao Front Committee for National Construction of Sekong province, highly appreciated the sincere sentiments and practical support of Quang Nam province in recent years, especially in improving the quality of human resources, supporting capital sources, livelihoods for production development, and improving the lives of local people.
She believes that the relationship between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province and the Lao Front Committee for National Construction of Sekong province will be increasingly consolidated and developed, thereby making practical contributions to preserving and promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue to maintain regular information exchanges, expand cooperation in many fields, prioritizing human resource training activities. Strengthen activities to improve material life, ensure national defense and security in the border areas between the two provinces. Propaganda, raise people's awareness in implementing the policies of the Party and State, the contents according to the Cooperation Minutes. Mobilize social resources in investment cooperation and economic development between the two provinces.
