Russian airstrikes destroy many military targets in Ukraine

The Russian military has launched repeated attacks on Ukraine's military infrastructure across the country.

On December 31, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that a record 90 Russian drones had attacked Ukraine. According to the latest data from Ukraine, on the night of January 2, dozens of Russian Geran drones were detected in the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kirovograd and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Another group of drones was also detected moving towards the Poltava region but then changed direction and targeted the Kie region.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the night attack by suicide drones was repelled and claimed that all Russian drones were defeated. According to the report, Ukrainian air defense forces “shot down” 35 drones.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine believes that the main goal of the drone launches is to force the Ukrainian air defense forces to use precious anti-aircraft missiles.

After prolonged battles against Russian drones, Ukrainian air defense forces faced a large-scale combined attack, involving various Russian missiles, including more than a dozen Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.

So far, explosions have been reported in: Kiev, Kirovograd, Krivyi Rih, Vinnytsia, Kharkov, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Rivne, Sumy, Zaporozhie, Poltava region.

On the morning of January 2, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a group attack with high-precision long-range weapons and drones on enterprises of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. These are enterprises that carry out orders for the production of missiles, drones and repair of weapons. Military equipment warehouses in Kiev and its suburbs, as well as missile, ammunition and aviation weapons depots were destroyed. The purpose of the airstrikes was achieved. All targets were hit.
