Russia's state space corporation Roscosmos announced on July 25 that the country had successfully launched 20 satellites into orbit, including an Iranian telecommunications satellite.
According to the announcement, the Souyz-2.1b rocket was launched from the Vostochny spaceport in Russia's Far East at 8:54 a.m. Moscow time (12:54 p.m. Vietnam time), carrying the Ionosfera-M satellites No. 3 and No. 4, designed to study physical processes in the Earth's ionosphere caused by both natural and artificial factors.
These satellites will study changes in the spatial and temporal structure of the ionosphere, magnetic disturbances, upper atmosphere composition and ozone distribution. In addition, the satellites will help monitor the radiation environment.
In addition to the above satellites, 18 small satellites were also launched. Of these, nine were developed by the Russian company Geoscan to take pictures of the Earth, monitor maritime and air traffic, and study near-Earth space physics.
Additionally, the satellites are intended for educational purposes such as exploring satellite-Earth connections and testing small satellite control technologies in low Earth orbit.
According to TASS news agency, among the satellites launched is the Nahid-2 telecommunications satellite made by Iran./.
