* The Kremlin revealed that the earliest time the Russian and US leaders could meet is this month, although it will take time to prepare for this direct meeting.

Speaking at a press conference on February 19, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov affirmed that the talks between the US and Russia held on February 18 in Saudi Arabia were an "important step" towards the goal of reaching a solution to the conflict in Ukraine. * Russia will appoint representatives for negotiations on Ukraine based on a corresponding decision from the US. According to Kremlin spokesman Peskov, neither Moscow nor Washington can make a decision on holding elections in Ukraine.

* Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a press conference after Russia-US talks on February 18, which included discussions on starting steps to resolve the conflict in Ukraine without Kiev's representatives.

At a press conference, Mr. Zelensky accused US President Donald Trump of "living in a bubble of disinformation and discord sown by Russia," and called on Europe to focus on what it could do to help Ukraine if aid from Washington was cut or there were other problems.

* Peace in Ukraine cannot be achieved without Kiev's participation, Brazilian President Lula da Silva agreed with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in a phone call on February 18.

During the phone call, the two leaders affirmed that peace in Ukraine can only be achieved through negotiations when Russia and Ukraine sit down at the dialogue table. * The European Union (EU) has a place in negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine, according to Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

* India and Egypt conducted the third joint exercise named CYCLONE-III, from February 9-23 at Mahajan Field, Rajasthan (India), between special forces from the two countries with the aim of enhancing cooperation and combat capabilities of special forces from the two countries. (Times of India)

* Qatar has pledged to invest $10 billion in India , marking a major milestone in boosting bilateral economic ties. The pledge came after high-level talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in New Delhi.

During the talks, the two leaders also set a target of doubling bilateral trade turnover to 28 billion USD within the next 5 years. In particular, the two sides also discussed the possibility of signing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which will open up opportunities for deeper cooperation in the future. (PTI)

* United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for expanding the Security Council so that the body can better reflect current geopolitical realities.

Believing that the UN remains the only forum for addressing global issues, however, he said that despite having the foundation for international cooperation, the UN still needs to be updated and must aim to improve its operations. (RIA)

* Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro faces charges of plotting to overturn the results of the 2022 presidential election after he lost the race.

In a statement, Brazil's Attorney General Paulo Gonet said he had filed charges against Mr Bolsonaro and several former ministers under his administration in the Brazilian Supreme Court, after federal police brought charges of the plot last November.
