Identifying agriculture as one of the three pillars of the economy , in recent years, the province has always paid attention to, led, and directed the implementation of the Central Government's policies and orientations for agricultural, farmer, and rural development, applying and implementing them appropriately to the actual situation of agricultural economic development in the area.
At the same time, many mechanisms and policies have been issued to encourage people and attract businesses to invest in applying high-tech agricultural production . In the period of 2021 - 2024, the province has supported nearly 3,200 hectares of crop restructuring on rice and other annual crops into large-scale concentrated production areas; supported nearly 7,000 hectares of vegetables and fruits of all kinds for more than 53,000 households and cooperatives.
Implementing Resolution No. 20 of the Provincial People's Council on supporting the restructuring of the agricultural sector and increasing farmers' income, from 2020 to present, the province has organized more than 60 training courses for more than 6,000 participants; supporting more than 3,400 tons of high-quality rice varieties of all kinds for people in the province.
Thanks to that, the agricultural economy continues to achieve positive results. In particular, crop production has strongly shifted the structure of varieties, crops, and seasons towards large-scale commodity production and concentrated areas. In particular, technical and technological advances have been widely applied, and mechanization has been applied in most stages of production.
Up to now, the whole province has formed a number of safe vegetable and fruit production areas according to VietGAP process, issued 96 Certificates of growing area codes, including 68 domestic growing area codes, 1 packaging code and 27 export growing area codes. The province has built brands for a number of local specialties such as An Hoa cucumber (Tam Duong), chayote (Tam Dao), red-fleshed dragon fruit (Lap Thach), grapefruit (Vinh Tuong)...
In animal husbandry, many new breeds of livestock with high productivity and quality have been put into production. Large-scale farms and ranches have applied closed-cage technology, used industrial feed, automatic feeding and drinking trough systems, high-capacity heating systems, oxygen-generating aerators in aquaculture; milking machines, grass cutters in cattle farming...
This not only contributes to improving productivity, reducing costs and increasing product competitiveness, but also gradually industrializing agricultural production, moving towards modern agriculture and sustainable development in the new era.
Up to now, the province has formed a number of large-scale concentrated commodity production areas and linked in chains from production to processing and consumption of products. In 2023, the province attracted investment in the Vinabeef Tam Dao Beef Breeding and Processing Complex Project invested by Vietnam Livestock Corporation Vilico - Vinamilk Group and Japan's Sojitz Group in Minh Quang commune, Tam Dao district and Trung My commune, Binh Xuyen district with a total investment of 500 million USD.
The project is planned to be built and operated according to a closed 4-in-1 process: Breeding - production - processing - distribution using Japanese technology, creating meat products according to international quality standards. The project will create major changes for the province's livestock industry.
Thanks to that, the rural appearance is increasingly prosperous, the material and spiritual life of farmers is improved and raised, there are no more hungry households, the poverty rate has decreased rapidly over the years; issues of food hygiene and safety are concerned, the industry management capacity is improved towards international economic integration, and the work of building new rural areas is actively implemented.
By the end of 2024, Vinh Phuc will be one of 22 provinces with 100% of communes recognized as meeting new rural standards; 178 products will be recognized as 3-star OCOP products at the provincial level; 28 models of production and product consumption chains. The average growth rate of agricultural, forestry and fishery production value in the 5 years (2021 - 2025) will increase by 3%/year, exceeding the target set by the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress of 1.5 - 2%/year.
Promoting regional and local advantages, the province continues to innovate the model of organizing agricultural production and business according to the value chain, based on the foundation of science - technology and innovation.
Actively support people and businesses to expand consumption markets, build brands of high-tech agricultural products, and gradually move towards advanced, modern and sustainable agriculture in the new era.
