Currently, the processing and manufacturing industry accounts for a large proportion of the province's total industrial production value, with the presence of many large-scale FDI enterprises such as Toyota Vietnam, Honda Vietnam, Piaggio Vietnam and hundreds of domestic and foreign satellite enterprises. Thanks to that, Vinh Phuc has formed a high-tech industry, creating great added value and attracting thousands of workers.
Promoting the driving role of the processing and manufacturing industry, the province focuses on expanding and perfecting the system of industrial parks and industrial clusters, ensuring clean land funds, connecting technical infrastructure, transportation, logistics, creating favorable conditions for investors; prioritizing attracting projects using modern, environmentally friendly technology, with the ability to spread and link domestic production, towards building a sustainable value chain; promoting vocational training, strengthening links betweeneducational institutions and businesses, building a human resource ecosystem serving industry 4.0; supporting businesses in digital transformation and green transformation.
Connections with neighboring provinces and cities and major economic centers such as Hanoi and Hai Phong are also being strengthened to expand development space, boost exports and seek new markets.
In 2024, the province's industrial production index (IIP) will increase by 11.4% compared to 2023, of which the processing and manufacturing industry will increase by 11.5%. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the processing and manufacturing industry will achieve a growth rate of 12.94% thanks to the positive contribution from 3 key sectors including the production of electronic, computer and optical products, up 12.79%; automobile production up 22.15%; and motorbike production up 5.36%.
Many large FDI enterprises operating effectively in the processing and manufacturing industry in the province such as Honda Vietnam Company, Toyota Vietnam Company (Japan), Piaggio Company Limited (Italy); North Stair Precision Company Limited (USA); companies from Korea such as Deawoo, Patron Vina, Heasung Vina, Young Poong; AGC Automotive Vietnam Company Limited (Thailand) ... have been actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.
A typical example is Partron Vina Co., Ltd., a Korean enterprise that has been operating since 2008 in Khai Quang Industrial Park. By July 2024, the company had increased its investment capital from 4 million USD to 269.4 million USD to expand production of products such as electronic circuit boards, electric vehicle controllers and antennas for mobile devices, with an annual capacity of about 1.57 billion products. The company's products are supplied to the world's leading electronics corporations such as Samsung, Amazon and exported to many markets such as Korea, EU, Brazil, India, etc.
Despite many outstanding achievements, the province's processing and manufacturing industry still faces many difficulties such as limited domestic supply chain, most raw materials still depend on imports; shortage of high-quality human resources, especially in the fields of precision mechanics, automation, high-tech electronics; increasingly fierce competition in attracting investment between localities due to the trend of global production shift.
As one of the major industrial centers of the North, the province has great potential to bring the processing and manufacturing industry to new heights.
The province is continuing to promote administrative reform, simplify investment and business procedures; improve the provincial competitiveness index (PCI), administrative reform index, people's satisfaction index, governance and public administration efficiency index.
Cut at least 30% of administrative procedures, create the most favorable conditions for people and businesses; remove obstacles, promote institutional breakthroughs. At the same time, improve the quality and efficiency of the Public Administration Service Center according to the one-stop mechanism... contributing to making Vinh Phuc a modern industrial production center of the country.
