This peak period demonstrates the strong determination of the management agency with specific goals to protect the seafood industry and consumers.

Accordingly, the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance focuses on inspecting the production, trading, and use of breeds, aquatic feed, environmental treatment products, as well as banned chemicals and antibiotics in aquaculture.

These are prominent issues that are prone to violations and directly affect product quality and consumer health. Illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing activities are strictly handled, with the motto "handling one case, alerting the whole region and the whole field".

At fishing ports, activities of issuing certificates, confirming the origin of aquatic products, ensuring food safety on ships and ports are closely monitored. At border gates, aquatic products imported, temporarily imported, re-exported, transferred or transited through Vietnam are also subject to increased inspection in accordance with regulations.

State management agencies on fisheries and fisheries control in localities, along with relevant authorities, are required to closely coordinate with the Department in implementing the plan and handling violations.

With a nationwide deployment scale, focusing on localities with complicated developments and frequent violations, this peak period of fighting and preventing smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the seafood sector is expected to bring about more positive changes, contributing to building a sustainable and transparent seafood industry.
