Implementing the 2025 work program, since the beginning of the year, the provincial culture and sports sector has focused on implementing, operating and monitoring effectively and promptly the policies, strategies and development documents of the sector. The sector focuses on state management, effectively implementing political tasks, well organizing cultural - artistic and sports events to serve the celebration, commemoration of major national holidays, important events of the province and the country, traditional festivals in the locality... in accordance with the actual situation of the locality.
State management of culture has achieved high efficiency. Investment has been focused on preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage. The system of cultural and sports institutions from the provincial to grassroots levels has been gradually invested in and built.
In addition, the province has paid attention to the restoration, embellishment and promotion of cultural heritage values at relics, promptly invested in, and repaired them firmly, spaciously and in accordance with regulations. The activities of propaganda, agitation, exhibition, mobile information, library, culture and mass art in the province have been well implemented, meeting the needs of spiritual culture enjoyment of the people, especially the people in remote areas, border areas and ethnic minority areas.
Focus on developing high performance sports
The implementation of civilized lifestyle in festivals is focused on, promoting widespread propaganda to all classes of people, raising people's awareness when participating in local festival activities. The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has changed positively, cultural titles are increasingly improved in quality associated with promoting patriotic emulation movements, building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. The mass physical education and sports movement in the province has developed strongly and widely. Mass sports competitions are organized regularly, rich in content, diverse in form for many subjects, from urban to rural areas, mountainous areas, ethnic minority areas, helping people realize the importance and benefits of physical education and sports in protecting, improving health and building a healthy lifestyle.
An Giang's high-performance sports continue to be consolidated and make strong progress, achieving many successes in national and international competitions. An Giang is always in the top 10 at national sports festivals and maintains the first-class achievements of the entire delegation through national sports festivals from 2010 to 2022.
At the same time, hundreds of coaches and athletes for the national team and national youth team will participate in training and join the Vietnamese sports delegation to compete in regional sports events, ASIAD, Olympics, world championships, Asia, Southeast Asia... In particular, contributing 2/16 Vietnamese athletes to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang Nguyen Khanh Hiep emphasized that, based on the assessment of advantages and difficulties, the provincial culture and sports sector is making efforts and determined to successfully carry out its political tasks in 2025. The sector focuses on improving the quality of cultural, sports and family activities; promoting research and implementing administrative reforms in all fields; strengthening state management of the sector; consolidating and perfecting all aspects of work, increasingly meeting the people's demand for cultural and sports enjoyment.
Continue to effectively implement the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" associated with the movement to build new rural areas, build happy and sustainable families and prevent and combat domestic violence; mobilize social resources to invest in construction associated with improving the quality of activities of grassroots cultural and sports institutions.
In addition, well implement the management, preservation, renovation, restoration and promotion of the value of historical - cultural relics and traditional festivals of the nation. Direct the preparation and organization of political events; celebrate major national holidays. Promote physical education and sports activities in both scale and quality, strongly develop mass sports and high-performance sports.
