On May 19, 2 highways through Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan opened to traffic.

The Minister of Transport has just signed a decision on the plan to organize the inauguration ceremony of the road construction project.   North-South Expressway   Eastern phase 2017 - 2020 Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet sections.

Construction of Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway

The inauguration ceremony will be held live at the same time on the morning of May 19 in Cam Lam District (Khanh Hoa Province) and Vinh Hao Commune, Tuy Phong District ( Binh Thuan Province).

The Nha Trang - Cam Lam component project is the first public-private partnership (PPP) project under the North - South Eastern Expressway Project phase 2017 - 2020 to reach completion. The construction time of the main route was shortened by 3 months compared to the required schedule.

The project is over 49 km long, with a scale of 4 lanes, a roadbed width of 17 m; total investment capital is over 5,500 billion VND. The investor is Son Hai Group, the project enterprise is Nha Trang - Cam Lam Expressway Investment Company Limited.

The Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway project has a total length of 100.8 km passing through Binh Thuan province. In phase 1, the project is invested with a scale of 4 lanes, the total project investment is more than 10,800 billion VND from the state budget, with a maximum speed of 80 km/h.

Previously, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway was scheduled to open to traffic on April 29, but had to be postponed to complete the sub-projects. The opening of this route has helped create an important axis from An Phu intersection (HCMC) along the HCMC - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway and along the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway connecting Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao, with a total length of about 245 km. After the opening of the route, the time from HCMC to Vinh Hao will be only about 3 hours.
