Mr. Le Dinh Hien, teacher at Dong Bac Ga Primary, Secondary and High School ( Thanh Hoa ):

I believe that the most important goal in teaching history is not to help students memorize how many milestones, but to be able to deeply perceive the position and significance of major historical events. Among them, April 30, 1975 is a typical example.

The victory of April 30 not only ended a fierce war - a painful chapter in the nation's history - but also opened a period of national unification and reconstruction, realizing the idea that "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one" and affirming the truth that "nothing is more precious than independence and freedom".

Teachers and students of To Hoang Primary School (Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi ) responded to the atmosphere of celebrating National Reunification Day on April 30 with red shirts with yellow stars and ao dai printed with the image of the Fatherland.

Students understanding the historical value of this day will help them develop gratitude, responsibility and a sense of community building in the context of modern society. I hope that students understand that April 30 is not just a holiday, but a day to remember and pay tribute to the millions of people who sacrificed their lives, and learn a valuable lesson: "Learn about war to appreciate the value of peace ".

When we realize this, history will no longer be a dry subject about the past, but will become a source of inspiration and motivation for the present and the future.

In the context of globalization, history needs to be approached as a cognitive tool, not just an information system. The spirit of solidarity, courage and tolerance forged during the resistance period can become the moral foundation for today's young generation to firmly overcome the challenges of their time.

Mr. Ha Minh Thang, History teacher at Thang Long Secondary School (Ba Dinh District, Hanoi):

History is the bridge between the past, present and future of mankind. Studying History plays a huge role in shaping the knowledge, personality and national pride of each person.

However, in reality, learning history in high schools is still difficult. Many students express a lack of interest in history. This comes from many reasons. First of all, the way history is taught and learned in many places still focuses on memorizing events and dates, making the subject dry and difficult to access. Instead of being inspired by heroic stories and profound lessons from the past, students are pressured by mechanical memorization. Besides, in the digital age, students have many other more attractive interests such as social networks, games, modern entertainment... History, if not approached in a new way, can easily be considered "outdated" and "out of touch with reality".

Joining in the solemn and proud atmosphere of the whole nation, teachers and students of Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School (Cau Giay campus, Hanoi) celebrated the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) on the morning of April 28.

The fact that students do not like to study History is a worrying reality. Because history is not only old pages but also lessons about patriotism, national identity and valuable experiences for the future. If people do not understand history, they can easily repeat the same mistakes and lose their own roots.

I and many other History teachers hope that the authorities at all levels will pay more attention to teaching and learning, so that History is no longer a "nightmare" for students.

Dr. Nguyen Van Ninh, Head of the History Department of Hanoi National University of Education:

I always wonder how students can learn History not as a dry subject, but as a lively journey, linked to their own responsibility for the past and the future. Learning History is not just to memorize events, but to understand the values of the aspiration for independence, freedom and the humanistic spirit that our ancestors have preserved.

I hope that students will approach History with a proactive and critical mindset; and at the same time, they will know how to take advantage of the power of technology - from digital documents, virtual museums to online learning platforms - to make learning History more vivid and closer. Technology allows today's young generation to "live" with History in a profound way, not only through books but also through digital experiences and multimedia.

Nguyen Sieu Primary School encourages students to wear red flag with yellow star to show national pride, towards the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day.

April 30 reminds us of the magical power of patriotism, of the desire for unity and peace. I hope that today’s students not only understand, but can also spread that spirit in new ways: Creating historical content on social media, participating in projects to digitize historical documents, organizing creative memorial activities to connect the community.

The spirit of "liberation" in the past is now the spirit of "creativity and liberation" today. You need to understand that studying History is to nurture courage, empathy and the ability to act in a constantly changing world.
