Summer is the time for children to play, practice skills, not learn knowledge.
Accordingly, from June 1 to August 20, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requires schools to proactively develop plans to adjust the content, scale and methods of organizing summer activities suitable for children and students based on the actual situation and current regulations.
Mr. Duong Tri Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, directed that all activities taking place during the summer must ensure absolute safety and not affect exam activities.
At the same time, according to Mr. Dung, when organizing summer activities, schools need to focus on training necessary skills for students. Develop a plan for club activities in a variety of forms to attract students to participate. Do not organize cultural knowledge teaching during the summer. Cultural review during the summer is only for students with weak academic performance.
In addition, the Department of Education and Training stated thateducational institutions in the city organize summer activities focusing on the following 5 contents: Summer activities propaganda, education on traditions, history, education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, lifestyle, life skills, awareness, responsibility of citizens towards society, arousing patriotism, national pride, popularizing and educating the law; Recreational activities, skill training, improving physical and mental health for students; Activities to raise awareness of traffic safety, environmental protection; Organizing activities to care for and protect children; Volunteer activities.
Establish a summer steering committee at the unit and participate in the local summer steering committee; coordinate with the local summer steering committee, create favorable conditions in terms of funding and facilities for children and students to come and play, have summer activities at school, ensure disease prevention and control.
