On the morning of October 10, the Central Propaganda Department's survey delegation worked in Nghe An on the situation of dissemination, propaganda and implementation of directives and resolutions on proactive response to climate change, resource management and environmental protection in Nghe An.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai - Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department, Central Propaganda Department led the survey delegation. On the side of Nghe An province, there were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, relevant departments, branches, agencies and units.
After working and surveying the field at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the working delegation of the Central Propaganda Department had a discussion with representatives of departments, branches, agencies and units in Nghe An about the situation of dissemination, propaganda and implementation of directives and resolutions on proactive response to climate change, resource management and environmental protection.
At the meeting, many departments, branches and agencies expressed their opinions, reflected on the current situation, and at the same time, proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of propaganda, implementation of climate change prevention and environmental protection.
Representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment proposed to strengthen control and geological investigation; tighten management of mineral mines, encourage mining enterprises to combine processing and invest in modern technology to protect the environment.
Representatives of the Department of Science and Technology presented research results and technology applications related to flood warning and forecasting; selected crops and livestock that are adaptable to climate change, including food crops, fruit trees, and aquatic species.
One of the contents proposed by many delegates is to strengthen the propaganda of good deeds, good models and criticize violations and limitations. The representative of the Provincial Police Department gave opinions on the current situation and solutions for environmental protection in the province, emphasizing the importance of handling and propagating to prevent violations.
Delegates also proposed many solutions, such as increasing competitions to learn about climate change response for all subjects, including students. Allocating funds for theeducation sector to organize more practical experience activities to educate awareness and skills on environmental protection and climate change response; increasing forest coverage, increasing carbon index; investing in forest protection policies, helping people have jobs and sources of income to live associated with forest protection. Strengthening inspection, examination and handling of agencies and enterprises violating environmental protection; strengthening mechanisms and measures to protect the health of workers working in toxic and polluted environments...
In addition, delegates also hope that agencies, departments and branches will strengthen coordination and provide timely information on the situation, policies and implementation of related professional contents. Focus on supporting stronger resources in building green economic models in cultivation and animal husbandry, minimizing environmental impacts. Some problems arising at the grassroots level such as household waste, waste from craft villages and industrial clusters currently do not have truly effective treatment solutions, requiring more drastic mechanisms, policies and solutions, especially investment in resources including budget as well as social resources.
Previously, the representative of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department reported to the working delegation on the implementation results, at the same time, pointed out the limitations, difficulties and orientation of tasks and solutions for implementation in the coming time. At the same time, the causes of the limitations and weaknesses were pointed out; solutions were proposed to propagate and implement thematic directives and resolutions on proactively responding to climate change, resource management, and environmental protection in Nghe An.
Concluding the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai acknowledged and highly appreciated the enthusiasm and practical contributions of the delegates. The Central Propaganda Department received and synthesized opinions and local situations to send to competent agencies for consultation and handling in order to improve the effectiveness of propaganda and implementation of specialized directives and resolutions on proactive response to climate change, resource management, and environmental protection./.
