Mr. Nguyen Chinh Nghia - owner of the TikTok channel "Anh Chong Ngoan" - has attracted tens of millions of video views, has more than 500,000 followers and can earn an income no less than a full-time job.
Strange job: Being a good husband who cooks dinner for his wife still makes money (Video: Doan Thuy - Thuong Huyen).
There are no lengthy scripted dialogues or sensational details. What keeps the audience engaged are the familiar images and sounds of a Vietnamese kitchen: the sound of knives slicing on a cutting board, the sound of food sizzling in a pan, the laughter of children, and the familiar conversation during a warm meal.
The husband loves the kitchen and everyone loves it
For Mr. Nguyen Chinh Nghia (born in 1994, Gia Lam - Hanoi ), the kitchen is not only a place to cook, but also a peaceful place after each working day.
His passion for cooking came to him when he was young. "My parents went to work, so my siblings and I became independent early. I didn't like cleaning the house, I just loved cooking, so I always took turns cooking," he recalls with a smile.

Mr. Nghia developed a passion for cooking from a young age.
From that day on, little Nghia felt happy when he could cook a new dish, and his love for pots, pans, meat, and vegetables grew from there. He has maintained that hobby until now, when he has been married for 6 years and is a father of 2 children.
"There are many nameless tasks in the house, but you can do them all day long. I don't think I can help my wife much, because cooking is just a small task," Nghia shared.
Busy with his office job, the young father takes advantage of every free time when he comes home early or on weekends to cook dishes from familiar to new, from Asian to European to change the family menu.

"Hearing my children thank me for the delicious meal, I feel an indescribable joy" - he said - "I want my children to have a simple image of their father in their childhood, from the dishes he cooks".
This spirit is also the reason Nghia "started" his career as a content creator.
"During the period of social distancing, when the TikTok platform took over in Vietnam, content about mother-in-law and daughter-in-law wars, family discord, and broken marriages attracted more viewers and went viral more easily and quickly than other content," Mr. Nghia recalled.

I want my children to have a simple image of their father in their childhood, from the dishes he cooks.
Why are viewers unintentionally drawn into such negative content, assuming that 'marriage is the grave of love', 'losing faith in marriage'?; Why is there so little positive content that shares joy in family life?
Those questions prompted Mr. Nghia to take pictures and post the first footage of his family's life, summer meals, and moments with his children.
"I used to wonder why there was so little positive content about family?", he shared. "If we only saw divorce and betrayal, people would gradually believe that marriage is a tragedy. But I believe that love can still live in the kitchen, through every simple meal," Nghia continued.
25 hours a week as a million-like chef
Starting with the image of him driving home, with neat hair, wearing a shirt/polo with trousers, Nghia's appearance in the videos makes it easy for viewers to recognize his main job as an office worker.

Besides the image of a husband who loves the kitchen, Nghia is still a full-time office worker.
"I'm still a real office worker. I only do content creation outside of office hours. I set this rule because I don't want TikTok to affect my main job. For me, doing many things at once without balance means I can't do anything well," this TikToker emphasized.
Initially working alone, Mr. Nghia now has additional support staff. During the 25 hours spent creating content each week, Mr. Nghia will be in charge of coming up with ideas and cooking. Filming and editing will be handled by team members.

Without revealing the specific income figure from his side job, he revealed that with only 25 hours/week of work, content creation generates income that is sometimes more effective than his main job at the office.
According to Mr. Nghia, the revenue of content creators can come from advertising, content marketing or receiving money from the platform. However, it is difficult to take full advantage of it and often only optimizes a single source.

For me, doing many things at once without balance leads to not doing anything well.
"Some people will have strengths in script writing and advertising content, but others will have strengths in livestreaming. My choice is to balance the brand's requirements and my strengths," he shared his experience.
At first, Mr. Nghia hardly appeared in videos because he felt that he was not a talkative person in front of the camera. At that time, the videos he edited were very simple, with content about recipes, cooking methods or sharing everyday images of his family.

"After 4 years of creating content, I feel more confident with the camera lens. Now that I have a whole team to support me, I still don't choose to livestream to sell products like many other TikTokers because I know that's not my strength," he said.
Surprised to know that 40% of the audience is men

I think to be remembered and loved by viewers, you have to be honest and sincere first.
In the context of increasing competition on TikTok, according to the owner of the channel "Anh Chong Ngoan", the audience will become more demanding and selective.
One mistake many content creators make that can turn audiences away is the imbalance between core content and commercial content.
"I think to be remembered and loved by viewers, you have to be honest and sincere first. Since starting TikTok, I have kept the principle of showing viewers what I have," he said.

In the long run, content creators who indulge customers and emphasize commercial advertising in their products will lose the channel's identity - which is the first thing that attracts viewers to know.
With each partner that comes to him, Mr. Nghia frankly discusses working principles, including that customers do not give feedback on original content outside of the product; in addition, each content creator needs to carefully select the products and industries they choose to advertise.
Having been surprised to discover that 40% of his audience was men, Mr. Nghia believes that videos about cooking and taking care of the family not only inspire housewives but also reach many men who are learning how to become better husbands and fathers.
"I feel lucky and happy when viewers meet and recognize me, thanking me profusely because since watching the channel they have learned more cooking skills, adding spice to their married life," the young man laughed.

Mr. Nghia has a happy family.
