Every weekend, singer Bang Chau's small house on Ton That Thuyet Street, Dong Ha City, is filled with laughter and singing from students coming to learn vocal talent. Officially joining the Quang Tri Provincial Art Troupe since 2001, singer Bang Chau has always devoted herself to her work, completing all tasks well. She always keeps in mind that she will pass on and guide the next generation what she has so that they can develop their singing talent. With more than 20 years of experience on stage, singer Bang Chau has "given wings" to hundreds of students of all ages, from first graders to 12th graders preparing for university entrance exams and even adults.
She shared: “For nearly 5 years, in the process of tutoring vocal music for students, I have seen that they still have many shortcomings. Especially mistakes such as lack of confidence, fear of singing in front of the camera, pronunciation mistakes or singing in local dialects. Therefore, when teaching, in addition to practicing vocal music, I also train students in pronunciation skills to make the words clear and round, performance skills... For me, this is also an active companionship with teachers in the school to develop students' talents in the most systematic and comprehensive way.”
From Ms. Bang Chau's vocal class, many students have made remarkable progress, confidently participating in competitions and art performances in schools and at all levels with high achievements. Some students who participated in practicing vocal skills with Ms. Bang Chau are currently studying at the Hue Academy of Music. At the end of 2024 and April 2025, singer Bang Chau invested in her students to release 2 high-quality music videos to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.
Recently, manyeducational institutions have invited artists, writers, athletes, speakers... to exchange, teach soft skills as well as tell inspirational stories. Through extracurricular activities, painting competitions, drama performances..., students are able to gain more knowledge, practical experiences and life skills as well as practice skills for their favorite subjects. At some schools such as Trung Vuong School, iSchool Quang Tri International Integration School, and the Provincial Children's House, artists and athletes do not perform or compete but become teachers and companions with students to create inspiring lessons.
Painter Nguyen Anh Tai, who won first prize at the contest “Historical Echoes: Interpretation of the Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy through painting” held at the special national relic of the Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy, Hanoi, is currently actively collaborating with the Provincial Children's House to train and teach drawing classes for children.
He said: “In the summer of 2025, I was invited by the Provincial Children's House to collaborate and teach two basic and advanced drawing classes with about 50 students. During the teaching process, I always find ways to convey aesthetic thinking and color thinking to students; show them how to be creative in art, how to complete a painting and practice meticulousness in each line. In addition, I also opened two drawing classes at home to prepare for university entrance exams and a talent development class for children aged 6-15 with each class having 10-12 students.”
In addition to instilling a love of fine arts and inspiring interest and passion for painting in students, artist Anh Tai also teaches them how to bring the beauty of life and the unique culture of Vietnam into each painting, thereby conveying messages and nurturing love for their homeland and country.
Once a player of the Quang Tri U11 team participating in many national youth football tournaments, an excellent midfielder of Quang Tri amateur football, now Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh is taking on the role of football coach at the Center for Culture, Sports and Physical Training of Dong Ha City.
With the desire to “pass on the fire” to the younger generation to develop a passion for sports, Quoc Anh took on the task of being in charge of the center’s youth football training classes. According to him, the first thing a player can easily teach the kids is demonstration.
By showing students sample moves or reviewing matches he has participated in, they can develop their football thinking and learn faster than just teaching theory. For those with talent, Quoc Anh continues to provide intensive training to send them to participate in youth tournaments or audition for major football centers.
“In 2023, I founded Hoa Binh Football Club to train and foster football talents for students during the summer. This year, Coach Tran Quang Tung and I will train and nurture about 30 students. Hoa Binh Football Club continues to invest in more facilities, practice balls, and training equipment to be able to teach systematically, "incubate" football talents for future generations and develop the movement for the province."
