Reporting at the meeting, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Minh Tuan said that in the cultural field, the work of planning to restore and embellish the relic system in Quang Tri province is currently being carried out.
In particular, focus on completing the Planning of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Relic, Vinh Moc Tunnels National Special Relic, Gio An Ancient Well System National Relic; advising on the issuance of the Decision on decentralization of management of ranked relics and scenic spots in the province; building the project of the National Museum "Memories of War and Aspiration for Peace " to submit to competent authorities for approval.
Develop an investment project to renovate and embellish the National Monument "Places related to Lord Nguyen's Palace (1558 - 1626)" and propaganda activities to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Lord Nguyen Hoang's birth (1525 - 2025).
Organizing a conference to summarize 25 years of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in the period 2001 - 2026. Plan to organize the Festival for Peace in 2026; implementing the "Peace Wish" symbol creation contest.
Coordinate with relevant departments and branches to organize activities: 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day June 21 (1925 - 2025); 80th anniversary of Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day August 19 (1945 - 2025) and 20th anniversary of National Security Protection Day August 19 (2005 - 2025); 80th anniversary of Quang Tri Provincial People's Armed Forces Traditional Day.
In the field of physical education and sports : focus on training and coaching high-performance sports teams; effectively implement mass sports movements, continue to organize quality provincial-level competitions.
In the field of tourism, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is continuing to advise on improving the quality of existing tourism products and the quality of tourism services; at the same time, coordinating and supporting the implementation of the development of new tourism products to meet the needs of tourists, striving to achieve the target of the number of tourists as planned (over 4 million visitors in 2025).
Coordinate with departments, branches and sectors to advise on removing difficulties and obstacles of licensed tourism projects; coordinate well in implementing investment promotion and advertising in the fields of culture, sports and tourism.
Up to now, the merger and adjustment of communes and wards will directly affect the management of relics, requiring review, adjustment and implementation of determining the administrative units formed after the arrangement with relics, updating the list of relics in particular and the cultural heritage system in general.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed the Provincial People's Committee to consider the policy of completing a number of vacant positions in the cultural sector; transfer public assets to have a basis for transferring the task of managing the Truong Son - Ben Tat Martyrs Memorial Temple to the Center for Nursing People with Meritorious Services and managing the provincial cemetery; arrange funds for the task of building the investment project of the National Museum "Memories of War and Aspiration for Peace"; organize the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector of Quang Tri province, scheduled for June 26, 2025.
At the meeting, representatives of departments, agencies and sectors gave their opinions on focusing on speeding up the progress of some projects before the district level ends and the province is merged; putting Cua Viet Tourist Port into operation soon; completing the planning of projects: Gio An Ancient Well System National Monument, Vinh Moc Tunnels Special National Monument; needing to soon complete the project of the National Museum "Memories of War and Aspiration for Peace"...
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien assessed that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has performed well in key tasks in the past time. Regarding the organization of upcoming major holidays, he requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with relevant agencies to implement according to the set plan and roadmap.
Regarding the 500th anniversary of Lord Nguyen Hoang's birth (1525 - 2025) and investment in renovating and embellishing the national relic "Places related to Lord Nguyen's Palace (1558-1626)", it is necessary to strengthen propaganda on mass media, build columns and reports on the anniversary.
Regarding the Museum of “Memories of War and Aspiration for Peace”, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism needs to develop and form a project soon to have a basis to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and work with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Assign the Department of Construction to study and develop a relic planning, a project to build a square and a temple to worship Lord Nguyen Hoang.
Speed up the operation of Cua Viet Tourist Port. Review and consider removing obstacles and difficulties to speed up the construction progress of projects related to the fields of culture, sports and tourism that are being implemented and determine to build a youth football training center in Quang Tri province.
