No airfare, cool climate in the middle of summer, and many unique experiences unlike anywhere else, that is the reason why Ba Den Mountain Tay Ninh has become an extremely attractive destination for people in the South during the April 30 holiday this year.

Art shows continuously from morning to night

Ba Den Mountain is not only a sacred mountain associated with the 300-year-old Ba Pagoda system and the majestic spiritual structures on the mountain top, but is also known as a unique cultural destination. During the April 30 holiday this year, intangible cultural heritages and the simple lifestyle of Tay Ninh people will be recreated with unique art shows held continuously in the mornings.

On this occasion, visitors to Ba Den Mountain will have the opportunity to witness the Chhay-dam drum dance - an indispensable performance in the Khmer folk culture. With movements that are sometimes as strong as martial arts, sometimes graceful in beautiful dances, the Chhay-dam drum dance is a wonderful harmony between movements and sounds that only the Khmer people in Tay Ninh have.

Chhay-dam drum dance is typical of the Khmer people in Tay Ninh.

Tay Ninh is also famous for its vast rice fields and many traditional craft villages, including the unique bamboo and rattan craft village. Coming to Ba Mountain this time, visitors will discover the beauty of Tay Ninh bamboo and rattan village through unique dances that recreate the simple yet vibrant working life of the people here.

In addition, bamboo flute solos, folk melodies or Suoi Truc dance depicting the beauty of the pure "Fairy Stream" flowing around Cau Mountain... will bring an artistic space that is both poetic and intimate.

In particular, at Van Son buffet restaurant, for the first time visitors will be immersed in the vibrant, youthful and exciting atmosphere of Loạn Xông Show - an interactive art show inspired by the familiar sounds of cooking, the clanging of "pots and pans" combined with bustling melodies and fun dances.

In the evenings, visitors cannot miss the water music show, a magical combination of water, sound and light with effects that are first seen in Tay Ninh. The water music effects, sometimes calm and leisurely, sometimes explosive, are created by 400 jets creating overflow effects, 800 electromagnetic valves creating waterfalls, 360 pumps with many flexible power ranges, 290 nozzles of various types using the world's leading advanced spraying technology and 1,450 specialized lighting lights. This is the most modern water music show in Tay Ninh and also the leading Buddhist water music show in Vietnam.

Cloud hunting, cooling off and offering lanterns

This year's April 30 holiday is predicted to be the hottest time of the year, so mountains with cool climates are becoming sought-after destinations for many tourists. According to forecasts, many southern provinces will have temperatures up to 39 degrees Celsius during the 5-day holiday, so Ba Den Mountain, with temperatures always 8-10 degrees lower than the city, is the perfect place to escape the heat. Even in the evening, visitors have to wear light jackets in the middle of summer when the temperature drops below 20 degrees Celsius.

Ba Den Mountain is also in the most beautiful cloud season of the year at this time, with interesting cloud phenomena continuously appearing such as lenticular clouds (cloud caps), seas of clouds, the Milky Way... The more days with giant cloud caps, the lower the temperature on the mountain top. Layers of mist hang around the statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son, descending to the large square and covering the treetops and flower roots, creating a cool, heavenly scene for Ba Mountain.

The most magical scene is on Saturday evening when thousands of people perform the sacred lamp offering ritual. Under the shimmering light and cool mist on the mountain top, visitors will write their own wishes for peace and luck and light the lamp to offer to Buddha. This is a sacred ritual unique to Ba Den Mountain that no visitor should miss when coming to the highest mountain in the South.

Dubbed the “first mountain in the world”, Ba Den Mountain in recent years has not only attracted tourists by its beautiful space like a fairyland but also by countless unique experiences and a series of festival events taking place all year round. Right after the April 30 holiday this year, Ba Den Mountain will enter the Buddha's Birthday season with many meaningful spiritual activities and an unprecedented grand lantern offering ceremony, promising to welcome thousands of Buddhists and tourists from all over the world to the top sacred mountain in the South.
