Research on developing cruise services in Can Tho City

At the meeting, Phuc Hoang Nguyen Group Joint Stock Company introduced the project of investing in the yacht manufacturing ecosystem. Presenting the project content, Mr. Tang Ngoc Nho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuc Hoang Nguyen Group Joint Stock Company, said that waterway tourism is still neglected or not fully exploited. Vietnam's waterways are currently mainly used to transport goods. The passenger transport industry of inland waterways is currently mainly used to transport tourists during the festival season, tourists from the shore to the bay, island, tourism on rivers, lakes and transporting passengers across rivers. However, apart from some high-end cruise ships operating in some localities, the majority of basic waterway tourism vehicles do not meet the requirements for exploitation in typical tropical climate conditions (rain, sun)... To develop the waterway tourism industry sustainably, it is necessary to ensure the convergence of all elements to form a complete tourism system so that tourists can feel the attractiveness of the tourist route including: departure (wharf, reception service) - tourist destination - transfer point (wharf, food service, health care service, shopping, sightseeing) - tourist destination - end point of the journey (wharf, logistics, health care service, shopping, sightseeing)... The project also introduces models of waterway tourism exploitation vessels suitable for each exploitation need and terrain of the locality.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ha Vu Son, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, highly appreciated the project of investing in the project of yacht production ecosystem of Phuc Hoang Nguyen Group Joint Stock Company and said that, with the specific terrain of the river region, Can Tho City in particular, the Mekong Delta in general, is very suitable for developing yacht services. This is also an activity to promote the development of trade, services and waterway tourism, increasing connectivity between localities in the Mekong Delta. The Department of Industry and Trade will actively support businesses in connecting with agencies and units in the city during the research process of the Project. At the same time, it will report to the leaders of the City People's Committee on this Project for guidance.
