On the Songshan Mountains in Henan Province, China, there is a thousand-year-old temple as famous as Shaolin Temple called Fengxue Temple. The temple has a history of more than 1,800 years and is considered by the people to be a sacred temple because it can summon wind and rain. Every year, on the afternoon of June 19, it always rains on the temple. Before the rain comes, the Fengxue Cave on the mountain behind the temple always makes a howling wind sound.

What is the secret of the temple? From a geographical point of view, the temple is located in a lush, densely forested mountainous area. The surrounding mountains are covered with Maifan rocks, which have good water retention properties. All of these are ideal conditions for rain formation.
In addition, every June 19, the temple holds a big festival. Hundreds of thousands of visitors come here to pray. Places with large crowds often emit high heat, promoting the evaporation of hot and humid air. When hot and humid air converges with cold air above, clouds will form.

The terrain of Phong Huyet Tu is like a large sound funnel, collecting all the noises of visitors from all directions and amplifying the sound waves, breaking the balance of the air above, causing rain to fall.
In addition, the pressure difference causes air to enter Phong Huyet cave, forming convection currents. Because the cave has one large end and one small end, the air moving from the wide to the narrow will form the Venturi effect, emitting a loud sound.
The above factors are the reason why Phong Huyet Tu has been able to call the wind and summon the rain for thousands of years.
