Fishermen caught a sailfish weighing nearly 200kg and measuring 3m long during a year-end sea trip.

On February 2, information from the People's Committee of Gio Hai commune, Gio Linh district ( Quang Tri ) said that fishermen in the area were lucky to catch a large marlin.

The fisherman who won the lottery was Mr. Bui Dinh Khoi (born in 1981, residing in village 4, Gio Hai commune, Gio Linh district).

Mr. Khoi and his crew caught this sailfish during a fishing trip on the morning of February 1, in the waters of Con Co Island (Quang Tri). The fish is more than 3m long, about 80cm wide, and weighs nearly 200kg. The fish has two colors: white and black.

It took a lot of time and effort for Mr. Khoi and his colleagues to bring the fish to Cua Viet seaport, Quang Tri.

This fish was later purchased by traders for 16 million VND; bringing joy to fishermen on the days before Lunar New Year.

It is known that in 2021, Mr. Khoi's boat also caught a 550kg marlin, after that, he sold the fish to traders for 22 million VND.
