Fishermen hit it big with 100 tons of anchovies on the day the Kitchen Gods go to heaven.

During a year-end fishing trip, a group of fishermen in Ha Tinh caught a big haul of anchovies weighing about 100 tons, earning a significant amount of money to celebrate Tet.

On January 23, Mr. Tran Ngoc Phu - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Ninh Ward (Ky Anh Town, Ha Tinh), informed Tuoi Tre Online that a group of local fishermen had just hit a jackpot with a batch of anchovies weighing about 100 tons.

Accordingly, on the morning of January 22, a group of fishermen from Tam Hai 1 and Tam Hai 2 residential groups (in Ky Ninh ward) went on 8 boats to the sea area of ​​Ky Anh town, about 3 nautical miles from shore, to catch seafood.

At around 10am the same day, the group of fishermen discovered a large catch of anchovies so they cast their nets to catch them. After several hours, the group of fishermen pulled about 100 tons of anchovies onto the boat.

On the afternoon of January 22, a group of fishermen brought their boats to the dock to sell fish to traders. With anchovies selling for about 10,000 VND/kg, the above trip brought the fishermen about one billion VND.

According to Mr. Phu, in previous years, fishermen have had many big catches of anchovies in the local waters. This big catch of anchovies at the end of the year has given people a large source of income to enjoy the spring and celebrate Tet.
