Where the flood recedes, life stabilizes there

According to a VNA reporter in Tuy Hoa ward, the floodwaters on central streets such as Tran Hung Dao, Chu Van An, Phan Dinh Phung, Tran Quy Cap... have almost completely receded, but what remains on the streets are garbage, household items... of people swept away by floodwaters into piles, lying haphazardly in the middle of the road.

Ms. Tran Thi Lan, Tuy Hoa Ward, said that after living in the area for decades, she had never seen floodwaters rise as quickly and as high as they did recently. Her family also took the initiative to clean up before the flood but did not expect the water to rise so quickly that all items such as refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, etc. were submerged in water. There had been no electricity or clean water for more than 3 days, so cleaning up after the flood was very difficult. Therefore, people hope that local authorities and relevant units will fix the electricity and water problems to soon stabilize their daily lives.

Tuy Hoa market is one of the heavily flooded areas of Tuy Hoa ward. According to the reporter, by the morning of November 22, the water had completely receded. Garbage and items were floating in the floodwaters surrounding the market. The traders began to clean up and count the damage to their stalls.

Mr. Luu Kim Toan, a trader at Tuy Hoa market, sadly shared that his family sells fruits at a lower part of the market, so when the floodwaters rose about 2 meters high, they swept away and damaged all the goods. Many traders also fell into a similar situation, especially those selling electronics, clothes, food, etc., all suffered heavy losses, even losing all their assets in the market when the floodwaters damaged them.

As of 4 p.m. on November 21, water levels in river basins continued to decrease, and some areas of the old district such as Song Hinh, Tuy An, and Song Cau began to recede. However, 6/34 communes and wards are still deeply flooded. All forces are focusing on response, especially communes in the Ba River and Ban Thach River basins such as Phu Hoa 1, Phu Hoa 2, Hoa Xuan, Hoa Thinh, Hoa My, and Dong Hoa ward.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Thanh Commune, Dak Lak Province Vo Ba Dat said that the locality is a highland area in the East of Dak Lak Province. Since November 21, floodwaters have begun to recede. Evacuated households have also returned home to clean up their houses and stabilize their lives. In addition to providing necessities to the people, the local government has organized inspections of infrastructure, roads, etc. to promptly have a plan to overcome the consequences of floods and storms, and soon stabilize the lives and production of the people.

According to the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, for areas where floodwaters have receded, local authorities and relevant units are required to urgently remedy the situation, provide emergency support to people, restore production and business; restore damaged infrastructure and handle environmental pollution. At the same time, ensure quick, effective and safe implementation, bringing all life and production and business activities back to normal as soon as possible.
