Man stung by wasp leads to cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest

On the evening of July 23, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, Director of Quang Nam Central General Hospital (located in Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam), said that the hospital had just received emergency treatment for a male patient who was stung by a wasp and was in critical condition.

The patient was identified as Mr. LVP (31 years old, residing in Trung Thanh village, Tam My Tay commune, Nui Thanh district). Mr. P. is being treated at Quang Nam Central General Hospital in critical condition.

According to Dr. Hung, when he was brought to the emergency room, Mr. P. was in anaphylactic shock, cardiac arrest, and respiratory arrest. Immediately after that, the doctors performed resuscitation so that Mr. P.'s heartbeat returned. After that, Mr. P. was taken to the intensive care room, put on a ventilator, and the doctors are actively treating him. However, up to now, the patient's prognosis is very poor.

Mr. Phan Dinh Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam My Tay Commune, said that this morning (July 23), Mr. P. and some people went to Quang Ngai province to get beehives to sell for money. However, Mr. P. was unfortunately stung by a wasp in the face, so he was taken to the hospital by the people who accompanied him.

According to Mr. Dung, Mr. P.'s family situation is difficult, both husband and wife do not have stable jobs. The couple is raising 3 children aged 4-6, so every day Mr. P. has to go into the forest to collect beehives and sell them to earn money. The locality is mobilizing people to donate to support Mr. P.'s family.
