At exactly 7 o'clock, the loudspeaker inside the National Funeral House announced the official start of the State Funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong. Afterwards, delegations of leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, departments, central agencies, Hanoi city, Quang Ngai province... came to pay their respects to former President Tran Duc Luong. The atmosphere inside the National Funeral House was filled with endless grief at the passing of a devoted, exemplary leader who devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Outside the National Funeral Home, in the rain on Tran Thanh Tong Street, Mr. Tran Van Hai, Phuc Loi Ward (Bac Tu Liem District), a former student in Russia, shared: The passing of former President Tran Duc Luong left behind endless sorrow in the hearts of compatriots, comrades and international friends. Those who knew him as a responsible, simple and devoted President to the country and the people. He held the position of President from 1997 to 2006, a period when the country was strongly transforming in the process of innovation, integration and development, Vietnam gradually consolidated its position in the international arena, promoting multilateral, equal and mutually beneficial diplomatic relations with many countries.

Before that, at exactly 6:00 a.m., although it was raining heavily in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command solemnly performed the ceremony of hanging the mourning band on the national flag and raising the flag at half-mast at Ba Dinh Square. On the roads leading to the National Funeral House, the functional forces organized traffic flow, maintained security and order, ensuring safety and convenience for delegations coming to pay their respects to former President Tran Duc Luong. Officers and soldiers of the Police, Army, Traffic Inspectorate... regulated traffic, guided passersby, devoted themselves to their assigned work as a way to express their respect and remembrance of former President Tran Duc Luong.

The funeral of comrade Tran Duc Luong, former Politburo member and former President, will be held at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi, from 7:00 a.m. on May 24, 2025 to 7:00 a.m. on May 25, 2025. The memorial service for comrade Tran Duc Luong will be solemnly held at 7:00 a.m. on May 25, 2025 at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi. The burial ceremony will be held at 3:00 p.m. the same day at his hometown cemetery, Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province.

At the same time, at the Reunification Hall, Ho Chi Minh City and at the T50 Hall, Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, No. 142 Le Trung Dinh, Quang Ngai City, the Funeral and Memorial Service for Comrade Tran Duc Luong also took place. During the two days of the State Funeral for Comrade Tran Duc Luong (May 24 and 25, 2025), agencies, offices, and public places will fly flags at half-mast and no entertainment activities will be organized.
