On January 31, at the ancient village of Tuy Loan (Hoa Phong commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang ), a traditional boat racing festival took place. This activity is part of the Tuy Loan communal house festival taking place on the 9th and 10th of January.

This morning, the banks of the Tuy Loan River were packed with people watching and cheering for the rowers. The boat racing festival created a joyful atmosphere in the first days of the new year.

The boat race was intense both on the river and on the shore.

On the river, the teams followed each other closely, and on the shore, thousands of locals and tourists cheered. Many people used boats to get a better view. Many people gathered on the shore, their voices hoarse, cheering and supporting the racing teams. On the river, the atmosphere was equally tense, with the teams competing for each position.

The Tuy Loan village boat racing festival is held to improve health and pray for a lucky new year and a bountiful harvest. Besides boat racing, this year the Tuy Loan village festival also has competitions such as baking rice paper, wrapping banh tet, human chess... right in the communal house yard.

The Tuy Loan communal house festival takes place on the 9th and 10th of January, divided into two parts: "ceremony and festival". The ceremony includes the procession of the royal decree, music and incense offering at the communal house, so that descendants can remember the five ancestors Dang, Lam, Nguyen, Tran, and Le who, following the decree of King Le Thanh Ton, traveled to the South to expand the territory (in the first year of Hong Duc, 1470), stopped here to settle down, reclaim land and do business, and named the village Tuy Loan.

The procession of the royal decree took place on the afternoon of January 9 (January 30). The procession had a palanquin carried by four people, covered with red and yellow cloth and covered with a parasol. The procession made a circle around the village, then returned to the communal house.
