The parishioners get rich from Hung Thinh land

Mr. Nguyen Sy Thang's farm area includes a water surface area and a barn area, currently has thousands of egg-laying ducks and meat ducks, along with a large number of chickens being raised. This farm area alone brings his family millions of dong per day.

Leading visitors around, Mr. Thang said that this place used to be a low-lying area, difficult to produce, rice cultivation was not productive so the villagers were not very interested.

Realizing the potential for livestock development, in 2002, Mr. Thang boldly received 1.5 hectares of fallow land to develop the farm economy , and at the same time, carried out procedures to convert the purpose of rice cultivation to livestock development.

At that time, the family's economy was still difficult, there was no condition to hire workers or machines, so Mr. Thang decided to dig the pond himself, although it took a lot of time but did not cost money. When he had a fish pond, his family invested in building barns to raise buffalo, cows, pigs, chickens and ducks.

Initially, the number of livestock was small, but later his family borrowed money from the bank to invest in increasing the herd. While promoting livestock farming, learning from experience through books, newspapers and from predecessors, Mr. Thang's farm economic model has developed steadily and has initially generated income.

But business is not always smooth, there are times when there are many difficulties, even failures, especially when there are diseases in livestock. However, Mr. Thang and his family members have not been discouraged, still sticking with livestock farming, aiming for the aspiration to get rich.

Having initially reaped the rewards of his lowland farm, Mr. Nguyen Sy Thang continued to contract mountainous areas to build his family’s second farm. Still investing in raising buffalo, cows, pigs, chickens, and ducks in a closed system, his family’s income has been increasingly improved.

For the past 10 years, Mr. Thang has focused on raising chickens and ducks for hatching eggs and meat, because this is an easy-to-sell product with a quick return on investment. Duck eggs are incubated at the farm, supplying restaurants in neighboring wards and communes and around the VSIP Industrial Park.

Every year, Mr. Thang's livestock farms generate a total income of about 3 billion VND, an amount of money that most farmers dream of. At the same time, they provide regular jobs for 6 workers with a salary of 7 million VND/month.

Mr. Nguyen Sy Thang's family has become a typical example in economic development, sticking to the land and fields to get rich. When people in the village or commune come to learn how to do business, Mr. Thang is always willing to share his experience and give enthusiastic guidance. Thanks to that, Hung Thinh village has more and more households with high income from developing livestock farming according to the family farm model.

As a parishioner, Mr. Nguyen Sy Thang always has the consciousness to strive for a life of “Good life, good religion”, contributing to spreading the doctrine and building the homeland. Currently, Mr. Thang is the Vice Chairman of the Pastoral Council of Hung Thinh Parish, always actively and effectively participating in movements launched by the locality and parish.

In particular, Mr. Thang and members of the Pastoral Council mobilized parishioners in the hamlet to donate nearly 2,000 ^square meters of land to open roads, contributing to changing the face of the countryside and beautifying the hamlet.

Among them, the most prominent are households: Mr. Nguyen Trong Doan (150 ^m2 ), Truong Cong Hien (120 ^m2 ), Nguyen Van Nien, Nguyen Trong Ly (100 ^m2 ), Nguyen Van Luong (80 ^m2 )... There are families willing to remove gates and fences worth hundreds of millions of dong so that the hamlet and commune can construct rural roads.
