Since the beginning of the week, hot weather has covered the northern and central provinces.
In Hanoi , on June 1-2, the outdoor temperature recorded in many places reached 40 degrees Celsius, the road surface was steamy, motorbike riders had to cover themselves from head to toe. In the "scorching" heat, environmental workers, shippers, and freelancers had to struggle to cope with the harsh weather.
"It's so hot, I feel like I'm about to faint after a few trips, especially when I have to wait at red lights. I have to take a few days off because I can't stand it," said Nguyen Van Dung, 31, a delivery man in Hanoi.
He said, at 10am on June 1st, while waiting to receive the goods on Lang Street, the phone reported the outside temperature was 39 degrees Celsius, but the actual feeling was even more terrible.

"The road surface is hot, the wind blowing in my face is like a hair dryer. Sitting under the bridge is also hot, every time I finish a delivery I have to find a shady place to recover," he said, his voice tired.
On June 2, Mr. Dung decided to take a few days off to avoid the peak sun, even though his income was affected.
"On groups, shippers invite each other to lock the app and rest," Mr. Dung shared.
Mr. Tuan, a construction worker in Long Bien, shared: “At 9am, the cement floor was already burning hot, every step felt like stepping on a frying pan. Around me, my colleagues all put on wet towels around their necks and wore hats with wet paper inside to avoid burning their scalps. They worked in the heat of nearly 40 degrees Celsius outside, plus the heat-absorbing concrete made the actual temperature feel like it was 45 - 50 degrees. However, the construction site did not wait for anyone, "sun is hot, progress must still be made".
In residential areas, many families have to turn on air conditioning all day to cool down. But for people living in level 4 boarding houses and tin-roofed houses, air conditioning is a luxury.
Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet (58 years old, living in Hanoi) said: “I only dare to turn on the fan, I can’t sleep at noon because of the heat. I always feel dizzy, tired, and have low blood pressure due to lack of water.”
Hot weather causes the body to lose water quickly. The elderly and children are susceptible to heat stroke when outdoors for long periods of time.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (63 years old, sanitation worker in Dong Anh district) said: "It's just the beginning of summer but the sun is as harsh as mid-June or July. I work from early morning but my shirt is already soaked with sweat, by noon I feel dizzy."
