Following the news that the "Shark's Jaw" building will be demolished before April 30, 2025, many locals and tourists visited and took souvenir photos over the weekend to preserve images of this familiar structure.

Doan Trang (in the middle, from Hanoi) shared that although she had sat in cafes in the building many times, she had never taken a photo there. "Today, taking advantage of the weekend, I invited my friends to come and take photos to preserve the memory before the building is demolished."

"I'm quite disappointed that this building is being demolished, but if it helps to expand the space around Ho Guom Lake and create a more beautiful landscape, then I fully support it," said Thuy Linh.

The "Shark's Jaw" building is a shopping mall located at 7 Dinh Tien Hoang Street (Hanoi). The building was constructed on the site of the former tram station, overlooking Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and offering panoramic views of Hoan Kiem Lake. Construction began in 1990 and was completed in 1993.

"Since I was little, I've been familiar with the image of this building; it's linked to my childhood memories. As the afternoon progressed, the area around the "Shark's Jaw" building near Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square attracted an increasing number of people.

After demolition, the city plans to study the construction of three underground levels in the "Shark's Jaw" area, with the first level serving as a cultural and commercial space, and the second and third levels as parking areas.
