According to the South China Morning Post, Wang Jungyi, from Jiangsu province, was in his 13th-floor apartment preparing dinner for his wife and daughter. His daughter had just finished her college entrance exam. Suddenly, he heard his wife screaming on the balcony.
Mr. Wang's wife had just gone out to the balcony to get her clothes to dry when she heard a cry for help from upstairs. She looked up and found the boy from upstairs hanging from the balcony on the 14th floor.

In a flash, Mr. Wang rushed out and climbed onto the glass railing, standing precariously on the narrow frame and reaching out with his right hand to support the heel of the boy who weighed about 20 kg.
At that moment, the only thing that stopped Mr. Wang from falling from his 13th-floor apartment was his left hand holding onto the glass frame. Then his wife, daughter and a neighbor rushed to hug his legs to support him.
According to a neighbor surnamed Yi, the group tried to stay in that precarious position for six minutes, until the building management came to the rescue.
Jiangsu TV reported that the family upstairs left their son sleeping alone at home and when he woke up, the boy climbed through the glass frame of the balcony.
Mr. Wang's family and an elderly neighbor who rushed to help have been commended by local authorities for their bravery. Meanwhile, China's "spider-man" has been praised by netizens.
The Chinese "Spider-Man" said that in the moment he saw the boy in danger, he only acted on instinct, regardless of his own danger.
