In 1995, Ms. Luu Thi Hieu and her husband (Nung ethnic group) from Cao Lau commune, Cao Loc district ( Lang Son province) migrated to settle in village 2a, Ea Sien commune (Buon Ho town).

Gathering all her capital, she bought 2 sao of land. At first, she planted coffee and corn, but due to lack of experience in growing and caring for coffee, the productivity was very low, only reaching 1.5 quintals of coffee beans per sao per year.

While struggling to find a way to develop the family economy , Ms. Hieu was supported by the Women's Savings and Loan Group of Village 2a to access preferential credit capital from the Social Policy Bank of Buon Ho town with a loan of 30 million VND. From the above capital, she invested in fertilizers and renovated her coffee garden. In addition, she also participated in training courses on science and technology transfer organized by the Women's Union of Ea Sien commune in coordination with the Farmers' Association and the Agricultural Extension Station of Buon Ho town, through which she learned the techniques of bud-pinching, pruning, and treating some common diseases on coffee... With investment capital and the ability to apply science and technology to cultivation, her family's coffee garden was gradually restored, with increasing productivity, from 1.5 quintals of coffee beans/sao to 3 - 3.5 quintals/sao. In addition to taking care of the fields, she took advantage of her free time to work for hire and earn money. With her diligence, hard work, and thrift, her family was able to buy 5 more acres of coffee.

Grasping the cultivation techniques, Ms. Luu Thi Hieu's coffee garden developed well.

Realizing that people in the commune had a need to buy breeding animals such as chickens and ducks but had to travel far, Ms. Hieu and her husband quickly opened a duckling trading service and raised 500 egg-laying ducks. She continued to research and learn how to effectively care for ducks. Thanks to meticulous care and proper implementation of the breeding process from breed selection, food, water, temperature, light... the ducks reproduced and developed well. On average, Ms. Hieu's family sells 1,500 - 2,000 ducklings and 2,000 - 5,000 eggs every month.

Currently, income from coffee and trading services has brought her family a revenue of 200 - 300 million VND per year. Her family's economy is growing, life is gradually stabilizing. From a poor household in the village, Ms. Hieu's family is now a well-off household and has risen to become rich, her children have the conditions to go to school. She has built a spacious house and bought a tractor to transport goods.
