Woman happy because 5 children were born

After nearly 20 years of living together, Phang Thi Ly and her husband were granted a marriage certificate and their 5 children were born on the same day.

On October 3, the People's Committee of Bac Gia Nghia Ward ( Lam Dong ) organized a ceremony to grant a marriage certificate to Ms. Phang Thi Ly (born in 1982) and Mr. Hang A Cha (born in 1980), residing in residential group 5 Dak Ha, Bac Gia Nghia Ward.

On this occasion, the local authorities also awarded birth certificates to Ms. Ly's 5 children, of which the oldest is 16 years old and the youngest is over 2 years old.

According to the leader of the People's Committee of Bac Gia Nghia Ward, Ms. Ly and Mr. Cha have lived together as husband and wife for nearly 20 years but have not registered their marriage. The birth of all 5 children of Ms. Ly and Mr. Cha has not been registered yet.

After receiving feedback about the birth of 5 children in residential group 5, Dak Ha commune, who had not yet been registered, the locality directed to urgently carry out birth registration procedures to ensure the rights of citizens.

After completing the paperwork, the Ward Police will make a citizen identification card so that the child can access social security policies according to regulations.

Sharing her feelings at the ceremony to hand over the Marriage Certificate, Mrs. Phang Thi Ly emotionally said: “I am very happy to receive the government’s attention and support in registering my children’s marriage and birth. With the birth certificate, I will apply for my children to go to school so that they will no longer feel sorry for themselves among their friends.”

According to the investigation, Mrs. Ly's family situation is very difficult. Mrs. Ly has a physical disability, her father is illiterate, often works away from home so he does not clearly understand the regulations on marriage and birth registration for children.

Not having their births registered means that Ms. Ly's children cannot go to school and cannot enjoy welfare and social security benefits like normal children.
