According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the night of June 23 and June 24, there will be many dangerous weather patterns occurring on land and at sea such as heavy rain, flash floods, landslides...

Beware of flash floods and landslides in many provinces and cities

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from 6:30 p.m. on June 23 to 0:30 a.m. on June 24, the provinces and cities of Son La, Hue, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh will continue to have rain with average rainfall of 10-30mm, with some places over 60mm.

There is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in many of the above provinces and cities, especially in Mai Son, Phu Yen, Thuan Chau districts, Moc Chau town, Van Ho ( Son La province); A Luoi, Phu Loc (Hue city); Minh Long, Son Ha, Son Tay, Tra Bong (Quang Ngai province); An Lao, Hoai An, Phu Cat, Phu My, Vinh Thanh (Binh Dinh province).

Warning level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, land subsidence due to heavy rain or level 1 flow.

From 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on June 23, the provinces of Son La, Hue City, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh had moderate to heavy rain such as: Bo Muoi (Son La) 51.6mm; Hong Thai (Hue City) 91.4mm; Tra Nham (Quang Ngai) 69mm; Ho Hoi Son (Binh Dinh) 48.2mm...

Soil moisture models show that some areas in the above provinces are close to saturation (over 85%) or have reached saturation.

Flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.

The Hydrometeorological Agency recommends that local authorities pay attention to reviewing bottlenecks and vulnerable locations in the area to take preventive and response measures.

Many coastal areas have thunderstorms

At sea, there is currently a low pressure trough with its axis passing through the central area of ​​the East Sea. In the area between the East Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, there are showers and thunderstorms.

It is forecasted that on the night of June 23 and June 24, the central and southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa sea area), the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind of level 6-7 and waves over 2m high.

In addition, on the night of June 23 and June 24, the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau has strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7, waves from 1.5-2.5m high, rough seas.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

According to the guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, affected coastal provinces and cities must closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of strong winds at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle possible bad situations.
