Over the past few days, heavy rains have been falling in Yang Mao commune, causing flooding and isolation in Ea Hanh village, Yang Mao commune. Another concern is that this area is at risk of landslides, which could endanger people's lives.

Faced with the above situation, on the morning of November 18, local authorities stretched ropes across the river to evacuate people from areas at risk of landslides. However, in the afternoon of the same day, while carrying out the evacuation, it rained heavily and the water poured down strongly, so they had to temporarily stop.

“By 9 p.m. the same day, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of Dak Lak Province Police in coordination with the functional forces of Yang Mao Commune had brought 180 people in the flooded area in Ea Hanh Village to safety. At the same time, food was transferred to 26 isolated households in other areas, waiting for the water to recede,” said the leader of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department.

Earlier, in the afternoon of the same day, Mr. Ta Anh Tuan, Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, and a working delegation came to inspect and direct flood response work in Yang Mao commune.

Here, Mr. Tuan said that Yang Mao commune continues to be at risk of landslides due to large amounts of water seepage, steep terrain and many bare hills. Therefore, Mr. Tuan requested the functional forces to coordinate with the commune government to resolutely evacuate all people living in dangerous areas, especially in locations with high risk of landslides. The evacuation must be carried out as soon as possible, without waiting for the water to recede, while mobilizing maximum local forces and coordinating with the police and military forces to ensure safety.
