In Gia Lai , heavy rains over the past few days have caused the water level of the Kon River and Ha Thanh River to rise, reaching above alert level 3 in some places. The downstream areas in Tuy Phuoc Commune, Quy Nhon Dong Ward, Quy Nhon Bac and some other areas are deeply flooded, many residential areas are completely isolated, and the national highway passing through Quy Nhon Dong Ward is blocked. According to preliminary statistics, about 10,000 households in this locality are flooded, with some places being flooded over 2m deep. Authorities have evacuated more than 3,000 households.
Following the "4 on-the-spot" motto, the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command has mobilized forces, vehicles, and special vehicles, including the use of BTR-152 armored vehicles to rescue deeply flooded and isolated areas. Relief work is also carried out synchronously by functional forces. In flooded areas with strong water flow and difficult access, functional forces use flycams to support people with necessities.
Previously, from the evening of November 18, the water level of the rivers rose above alert level 3. That very night, the units coordinated with the Party Committees and authorities of the communes and wards, assigning officers to key areas to directly direct the forces to evacuate more than 10,000 people to safety.
On the night of November 19, the Military Region 5 Command held a working session with agencies and units stationed in Gia Lai province, directing the establishment of a field command post to deploy emergency solutions to respond to floods and ensure people's safety. At the same time, proactively planning to organize forces and means to help localities overcome the consequences of floods.

The Military Region Command has directed the establishment of a field command post in Gia Lai to be on duty 24/7. Directing forces and vehicles to be ready to respond when water levels in key areas rise.
"The provinces in the area have used forces and means, closely coordinated, and quickly arrived at key areas to support and evacuate people to safe areas. In particular, after the flood receded, support plans were also prepared to ensure the lives of people and facilities were stable and could be deployed immediately," the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 5 emphasized.
