- Hello Bao Ngoc! Congratulations on your impressive achievement at “Talent Rendezvous” 2025. How did your path to music begin? Was it a journey filled with roses?
- Thank you for your congratulations! My musical path is certainly not a bed of roses. I naturally fell in love with singing at the age of 5 and had absolutely no formal training through formal schools. Because of this "amateur" start, I was initially quite self-conscious and insecure. However, my parents' encouragement motivated me to participate in art movements at school and many different competitions to have the opportunity to rub shoulders and practice my skills.
- Without going through any training, practicing on your own must be a difficult process. Have there ever been times when you felt like you reached your limit and wanted to give up?
- Yes! That was the most difficult time in my journey. There were times when I thought I had reached my limit and wanted to give up my singing dream. The days of facing difficulties alone during vocal training and competitions were really stressful.
Having to compete with many professionally trained seniors and friends also made me doubt my own abilities at times. But I must say that I have always had a strong passion for music. It was that passion and the encouragement from my family that pulled me back, helping me persevere on the path I had chosen.
- There is a somewhat personal question, that is the name Bao Ngoc has been quite strange to everyone since it first appeared. Can you explain a little about your name?
- My name makes many people wonder why it is Bao Ngoc and not Bao Ngoc? My hometown is in the Central region - where every year we have to face storms and floods, people are always ready to fight against natural disasters to protect their lives. Therefore, when I was born, my parents named me Bao Ngoc - meaning a pearl in the storm - with the wish that I would be strong, shining, like the people of my Central region who always know how to overcome all difficulties to assert themselves.
- One of the memorable memories that fueled your passion was winning the runner-up title of Quang Binh Singing Voice in 2024. It can be said that this competition became an important motivation for you to confidently step onto bigger stages. How did you feel at that time?
- That was an extremely important and surprising milestone for me. At that time, I had to compete with many professionally trained contestants, so I didn't dare to expect much. The runner-up title that year really became the "fire" to add strength, helping me to be much more confident on the path I had chosen.
- Standing on the big stage of VTV, you not only face the pressure of exams but also negative comments, claiming that your success is due to the favor of judge Ho Ngoc Ha. How do you face this "storm"?
- It is true that when standing on the big stage, I had to face pressure and negative comments, including questions about the favoritism of judge Ho Ngoc Ha. In the face of those opinions, I chose to stay silent and prove myself with my own ability. I believe that the best answer is to improve through each round and give the most convincing performance.
And fortunately, the performance of the song Choi Voi in the final night helped me do that. The compliments from the judges were the most valuable recognition. Singer Truc Nhan called me a “colorful butterfly”, and musician Huy Tuan also admitted that keeping me was a completely correct decision after witnessing my breakthrough.

- Your story has greatly inspired the youth in Quang Tri . How do you feel about becoming a symbol of the rise of the youth in your hometown?
- I don’t feel pressured, on the contrary, I am very proud to be an inspirational figure for young people in my hometown. My story probably has a special meaning for young people in Quang Tri province, where conditions for artistic development are still limited.
I want to prove that, no matter where you come from, what your starting point is, as long as you have passion, aspiration and unlimited perseverance, determination and spirit, and a serious working attitude, all dreams can come true. I really want to send a message to the young people in my hometown: "Dare to dream, dare to step forward".
- So what are Bao Ngoc's upcoming plans? Will you focus on studying or a professional singing career?
- In the near future, I will return to Da Nang to complete my studies at Da Nang University of Education. At the same time, I plan to improve and practice my voice in a more systematic and in-depth way, preparing for the journey to become a professional singer in the future. I also have a number of upcoming projects with VTV and will make constant efforts to not disappoint the expectations of the audience, especially the audience and young people in my hometown who always follow and support me.
- Thank you Bao Ngoc for this meaningful conversation. I wish you success in your studies and continued success in your artistic career!
