X55 Navy Factory received the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal

On the morning of October 22, in Can Tho City, X55 Navy Factory held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its traditional day (October 26, 1975 - October 26, 2025) and received the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal.

Delegates attended the 50th anniversary celebration of Factory X55 and received the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal.

Attending the ceremony were Major General Nguyen Van Tien - Deputy Commander of Military Region 9; Comrade Kien Thi Minh Nguyet - Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Naval Logistics and Engineering Department, armed forces units, representatives of local authorities and organizations.

After the complete liberation of the South, in response to the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, on October 26, 1975, the Ministry of National Defense signed a decision to establish Naval regions and affiliated units, including Binh Thuy Factory (now the X55 Naval Factory). Since then, October 26 every year has become the traditional day of the X55 Naval Factory. From a small-scale technical assurance facility, the X55 Factory has gradually built and developed comprehensively in all aspects.

By 2025, the expected production value will reach more than 350 billion VND. The factory has the capacity and technology to repair ships, weapons, and technical equipment for many different types of ships. Newly built products are always diverse in types, from steel hulls to aluminum alloy hulls with medium-sized patrol boats, service ships and military transport ships, fishing logistics ships to 1,000-ton ships, conventional sea transport ships with a capacity of up to 4,500 tons, ships serving sea tourism, tugboats and cargo ships.

Along with promoting national defense and security work associated with economic development, Factory X55 always maintains a close relationship with the Party Committee, government, local people and agencies and units in the area. Regularly coordinates with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Can Tho City Party Committee and Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee to organize propaganda about the sea and islands, support disease prevention, drought and saltwater intrusion.

The movements "The Navy joins hands to build new rural areas", "The Vietnam Navy is a support for fishermen to go offshore", "The Navy sponsors fishermen's children" have been effectively implemented with effective and practical methods, contributing to strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people.

Colonel Le Hong Quang - Director, Head of the Navy Logistics and Engineering Department requested officers, professional soldiers, workers, defense officials, and employees of Factory X55 to continue promoting the tradition of "Proactively being creative, overcoming difficulties, uniting and coordinating, completing tasks", contributing with units in the Navy to excellently complete the core task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands, and continental shelf of the Fatherland.
