The Faroe Islands lost 1-0 in their last Nations League match against Latvia, in a fairly even game, with Latvia creating two big chances and the Faroe Islands creating three of their own.
In their opening match of the 2024–25 tournament, the hosts drew 1–1 with North Macedonia on 7 September, their third draw in their last five Nations League matches.
The Faroe Islands finished third in the four-team group in the 2022-23 edition of the tournament, with eight points from six games in League C, and they are five points behind leaders Turkey, who have been promoted to League B.
