After more than 3 months of farming, on July 7, Cam Pha High-Tech Shrimp Farming Cooperative in Cong Hoa commune harvested the first 2 high-quality commercial shrimp ponds, with an output of about 25 tons/2 ponds, estimated revenue of over 3.3 billion VND. This result met the expectations of the Cooperative when boldly investing in an industrial shrimp farming model in a favorable area in Cong Hoa commune.

Mr. Dang Ba Manh, Director of Cam Pha High-Tech Shrimp Farming Cooperative, said: Cong Hoa commune has all the favorable factors to develop an industrial shrimp farming area, such as clean saltwater, clean environment, no source of pollution, so the cooperative decided to build and invest in an industrial shrimp farming model with the application of advanced technology in farming.

The industrial shrimp farming process of Cam Pha High-Tech Shrimp Farming Cooperative is completely closed, on an area of 6 hectares. Instead of investing in ponds like other farming areas, the Cooperative invests in reinforced concrete ponds with a circular shape covered with tarpaulin that can be moved according to demand to limit the impact of hot and cold weather, as well as avoid rainwater that reduces salinity in the pond. Therefore, this shrimp farming technology can be implemented all year round without worrying about weather factors.

Currently, Cam Pha High-Tech Shrimp Farming Cooperative has 12 ponds, each pond has an area of about 2,000m2 . The shrimp farming process here is closed, from using water sources, stocking, feeding to disease control. Shrimp farming is carried out in 3 stages, strictly controlled from the stage of importing breeds to harvesting by experienced aquaculture engineers. Mr. Do Dinh Minh, Head of the Department of Fisheries (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development), said: With the shrimp farming output reaching the first batch of Cam Pha High-Tech Shrimp Farming Cooperative, this output is much higher than other farming models being implemented in the province. I highly appreciate this shrimp farming model, it is really promising, suitable for the factors of Quang Ninh sea and can be strongly expanded and developed in localities with similar conditions.

During the inspection and visit to this shrimp farming model on June 3, 2024, Comrade Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was very pleased with the way the cooperative operates and uses advanced and modern shrimp farming technology, and said that this is a typical model that needs to be encouraged for widespread investment and development in the province. Localities and related units need to create conditions and support in terms of legal procedures for organizations, businesses and individuals who want to implement investment to bring practical and effective benefits to farmers and enrich the economy.

With the experience gained from practice, Cam Pha High-Tech Shrimp Farming Cooperative will submit a proposal to the competent authority to expand the scale of the high-tech shrimp farming area in Cong Hoa commune to over 100 hectares. If approved, this high-tech industrial shrimp farming model will produce an average annual output of up to thousands of tons, in order to promptly meet domestic consumption and export demand.

In Van Don district, a locality with strengths in marine aquaculture, there is currently a typical model of seaweed farming and grouper farming combined with experiential tourism by STP Company in Ha Long commune. This company has applied automatic fish feeding technology with cameras to monitor the growth and development process; has equipment to measure the farming environment; uses a floating cage system made of environmentally friendly green materials. After a period of investment, this model currently harvests 50 tons of dried seaweed, 100 tons of oysters, 45 tons of fish each year, attracting about 3,000 visitors and experiencers.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Son, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said: Currently, in the province, there are many new models of sustainable aquaculture economic development, initially giving many positive results. Closely following the provincial planning and the planning of the aquaculture industry, the Department is focusing on reviewing areas and farming areas with sufficient conditions to attract and encourage businesses and cooperatives to develop the aquaculture industry in a sustainable direction, using green, clean and modern technology to create high-quality products at high prices per unit area. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of economic growth of the province.
