Currently, farmers in some wards and communes in Chi Linh City are starting to harvest longan early. Traders buy longan at the garden at 50,000 VND/kg, nearly double the same period last year. This year, due to the impact of the weather, longan in Chi Linh City failed to harvest, so the price increased dramatically.
According to the Economic Department of Chi Linh City, the locality currently has 740 hectares of longan, concentrated in the communes and wards of Hoang Hoa Tham, Bac An, Hoang Tien, and Le Loi. Of these, 190 hectares are produced according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards. This crop, the estimated longan output is 800 tons, down more than 80% compared to the same period last year.
