A Secret Service spokesperson confirmed that the agency has placed the employee in question on leave while it investigates.

RealClearPolitics then cited four unnamed sources as saying the incident occurred last week while staff were conducting a security assessment ahead of a Harris campaign event that ultimately did not take place.

The incident was reportedly witnessed by others and occurred in a hotel room after the agents had gone out to dinner. The Secret Service agent involved is suspected of getting on top of the female agent and groping her, according to RealClearPolitics .
