Education was one of the main topics Cruise touched on. The veteran actor told the London crowd that he had no formal acting training and instead set up his own "film school" by studying the careers of actors, directors, and DOPs, then reaching out to them for advice as his career progressed.

"I asked Scorsese, Hoffman, Newman, Spielberg. And every step of the way, I studied movies, the studio system, distribution," Tom Cruise revealed, adding that as a young actor, he always "forced the studios" to send him to many countries to learn how to make movies outside the United States.
